April 2023 review: We won’t be eating here again. Last year gave them 4 stars, but they have deteriorated. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. The appetizers arrived TEN MINUTES AFTER THE MAIN COURSE. That is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. When the mains arrived the waiter appeared confused when I said “shouldn’t the appetizers come before the main courses?” It was nearly impossible to get the wait staff attention. I have to say the quality of the main courses was 5 star, but that couldn’t compensate for the notable flaws in the overall dining experience, which deserved only 2 stars overall. The food presentation was nice. For these high prices much more is expected. The dining experience overall for the price was very disappointing.
mid 2022 review: The food was amazing, all of it. It was pricey, but well worth the cost. We had a table reservation but still had to wait about 10 minutes. The wait staff were all pleasant. So why didn't I give them 5 stars? They should have timed the main course to come out after we finished our appetizers. The main courses came out when we were half way through our hot appetizers and we had to decide which to eat first and which to eat cold. To try to eat everything while it was a least warm, I ate quickly which detracted from the otherwise high end dining experience. The poor delivery timing was disappointing for what is a very high end restaurant in every other way. This was our first time at Estihana Teaneck. Next time when we place our orders we will ask that they delay the main courses until we have finished our appetizers. Read moreWalked in fine with a reservation and got seated quickly. Our party started making our orders and one specified the peanut allergy and need for gluten free. The server didn't want to take the order for a menu item selected of one in the party and made them choose a different item with veggies. Which is terrible service on every level. And things just went down hill from there. One dish arrived topped with noodles fried. As i attempted to remove them a mild anaphylaxis attack began to set in. In attempting to push my chair back to get up and wash off the allergy something on the floor got caught on the chair and it fell out from under me nearly sending me falling to the floor. My lower back still hurts from catching myself. I asked the server to not add those noodles to any additional dishes. Therefore was shocked when a salad came out with them. Overall a terrible experience with the server that wouldn't just let someone order what they requested. She clearly requires additional training. The cherry on top was their need to stamp 18% gratuity using a stamp pounded down loudly on each receipt. If the stamp requires to be used as such the owner should look into sourcing their stamps from different manufacturers. In addition if you feel the need to apply a tip to an order you probably don't deserve one. I generally tip minimum 20% but again if you feel the need to include one you don't deserve one.
For those debating where to eat may i suggest Wok 18 for asian fusion, Etc Steakhouse for Meat, Mocha Blue for dairy, Metsue Sushi for Fish and Parve dining. All delicious options with great...
Read moreVery Very rude costumer service I came in the other day for dine-in and the greeter was to busy doing other things. While he was on the phone he yelled at us "just grab a couple of menu's and sit there point in the general direction of a few tables. Today I tried giving it another shot but I decided uber eats instead unfortunately there are no drinks on the menu. When that happens at most restaurants I can buy something else of similar pricing and call the restaurant to change that for a drink, not only did they not want to do that but he was very rude about it too "why would I do this " All together I would NOT recommend this restaurant
EDIT: after anyways ordering my steak and waiting at the restaurant for 35 minutes even though they hit on uber eats that the food was ready the steak was after driving home at 155 degrees on my meat thermometer even though I ordered medium rare (140 degrees) I unpacked the rest of my order and half the food was missing when I called the response was "what do you want me to do about that"
