UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER I can’t tell you how many times I’ve visited since my review a year ago when I joined the wine club! Every visit has been worth the drive. Michael Hall is usually my wine expert, but the few times he wasn’t there we had someone nice too. He is always super knowledgeable about all wines, very personable with everyone around see him assisting, super patient with questions, and so much fun to chat with between pours.😊😊😊

This review is because we attended the kick off of the summer concert series! We had a large group and Michael, once again was an absolute joy!! The setup for these concerts was so cool! Tables on the lawn with umbrellas, open grass area near the stage, vendors setup around the perimeter, and live music before the concert even started! They thought of everything. They only had one food truck so options were limited, but I think they were expecting two more.

The Summer Concert Series is a great way to spend your weekend so check it out if you can! I LOVE coming here even on a random weekday, but my favorite times are when they have great live music.

This is always my favorite winery in the valley! This trip was no different, except I finally decided to join their wine club. Michael in the lounge was so nice! They had live music and the wines were wonderful. My favorite new find was the Malbec! The grounds are beautiful and they have multiple options for seating and tastings. I’m looking forward to returning very soon to experience some of the member only perks! If you’re visiting the area this is by far one of the BEST to experience dry sparkling and bold reds with lots of blends too!! I forgot...

⭐ 3/5 – Decent Wine, but Pressure to Buy and No Food

This winery has decent wine, but it’s not what it used to be. The selection is fine, but it feels more like a sales-driven experience rather than one focused on relaxation.

🍷 The Wine: 3/5

The wine is good but underwhelming compared to other local options. It used to be better, and while it’s still drinkable, it doesn’t have the same depth or excitement it once did.

🍽️ The Food: N/A

There’s no food available, but food trucks sometimes show up on weekends, which adds a bit of variety for those wanting to snack while sipping.

🛎️ The Service: 3.5/5

The service is fast and efficient, but there’s a noticeable pressure to buy bottles each time you visit. This can be a bit overwhelming if you’re just trying to relax and enjoy the tasting without being pushed to make a purchase.

🏡 The Atmosphere: 3/5

The setting is fine, but it feels a bit sales-driven rather than relaxed. It’s good for a quick stop or a group visit, but it’s not the ideal spot for a cozy or intimate wine experience.

💰 The Verdict: Good Wine, but Sales Pressure and No Food

✅ Decent wine selection ✅ Food trucks on weekends ✅ Efficient service ❌ Constant pressure to buy bottles ❌ No food options ❌ Lacks a relaxed, cozy vibe

Would I come back? Maybe, but I would prefer a winery that focuses more on the experience and less on...

Went for wine tasting on a Thursday afternoon to take advantage of the 2 for 1 tasting coupon and taco truck. We also appreciated the fact that dogs are welcome. Children are also welcome and there were quite a few families with young children. I have grown children of my own and understand as a parent how children can sometimes misbehave but to put it politely, the dogs who were there were more well-behaved. I think the children present at the time were too young to enjoy themselves as there is really nothing to do for a toddler to 5 year old so understandably they would get antsy and whiny and cry.

Food and wine were good but service lacked. After paying for our tasting we were told to choose a table outside and a server would come to us. After 15 minutes I finally had to get up and go to the bar to ask if I misheard the cashier inside. The woman was so apologetic and made sure someone came out right away. Tastings were fine, but after the 5th glass out of 6 our server forgot about us and when she returned she admitted she forgot. When she returned with our 6th and last pour I made sure to tell her I wanted to order bottles to go and that we would order one more glass of wine. We waited 30 minutes and when she didn’t return we finally got up and left. This was only our second trip to Temecula but definitely will not be returning to...

We had our wedding here at the end of September 2018. WOW! What an amazing venue and all that it has to offer. Our coordinator was Christine with some help from Jaime and Irena. Everyone was so sweet and helpful. Christine even managed to stay in contact with us and keep us up to date while we were overseas. Although we had no idea what to expect planning a wedding, Christine guided us through the process and made every step simple. We loved this venue because, on that day, we were their ONLY focus. There were no other events and we had the venue to ourselves. We received so many compliments on the service, wine, and food from our guests. It was nice to know that all this time and effort was appreciated and our guests were having a good time. Almost every plate was completely cleared as we made our rounds! We even have guests asking the types of wines we had because they want to order some. Christine kept us on schedule on the day, making sure we didn't fall behind or forget anything. She was such an amazing day-of coordinator that we actually got to relax and enjoy our day. The bridal and grooms suites were tastefully decorated and stocked with food and drinks for getting ready. We cannot wait to come visit this place again. Thank you Wiens and Christine for making our wedding day absolutely perfect!

Wiens Family Cellars in Temecula is a fantastic winery known for its exceptional red wines, welcoming atmosphere, and beautiful vineyard setting. From the moment you arrive, the friendly and knowledgeable staff make you feel at home, providing excellent service and insight into their impressive selection of wines. Wiens is best known for its bold and well-structured reds, especially their signature “Big Reds” like the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Refugio Bordeaux blend. These wines are rich, full-bodied, and perfectly crafted for those who appreciate depth and complexity. However, their whites and rosés are equally delightful, offering something for every palate. The tasting room is spacious and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor patio, overlooking the vineyards, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the picturesque views. The winery also hosts live music and special events, creating a fun and lively experience for guests. Whether you’re a serious wine enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to unwind, Wiens Family Cellars delivers on quality, hospitality, and ambiance. It’s a must-visit destination in Temecula for anyone looking to enjoy top-tier wines in a warm and welcoming environment. Highly recommended!

My ex-girlfriend and I first visited here in Jan '12. The sign "Big Reds" is what attracted us in and we left wine club members that day. Their regular tasting room features good wines but what sold us was their cellar room tasting which features the big Bordeaux style reds (all reserve such as Cabs, Merlots, Syrahs, etc.). The regular tasting fee is $15 and their reserve tasting is $30 but worth every penny. If your palate is softer reds or whites, they have wines for you as well. They also have a very good Amour De L'Orange (Champagne with an orange twist). The staff is knowledgeable and can answer any questions you may have. If you opt for the reserve tasting, you will also get a FANTASTIC wine education. I highly recommend Wiens to anyone that as an appreciation of finer Temecula wines. I enjoy going in often for club events or even just another tasting. The only downside to this place is eventually they will sell out of their great wines. The good news, you can always purchase several and put them away for several months to a couple years. They also always come out with another great wine. Bar none, this is my favorite winery in the valley.
