I've never written a review on anything ever in my entire life. However, after three outstanding experiences here, I felt that I was almost morally compelled to write them a good review.
The first experience was while looking for an Electra cruiser for my wife. They didn't have the exact model she wanted, but Ron suggested she could test ride a similar model in the store, and if she liked that, then she would probably like the other one as well, and that he would be able to order it for us. We ended up ordering the bike, and Ron gave us two phone calls, one to tell us the order had been placed, and another call when the bike had arrived and was ready for pickup.
The thing that stood out the most during the buying process, was that Ron seemed to be going out of his way to make sure we were happy with our purchase, as opposed to just trying to move as much merchandise as possible (my wife loves the bike, by the way).
The second experience was when I ran my commuter bike into the shop on a Sunday afternoon an hour before closing time. I was fully expecting to be told to leave my bike and pick it up the next day, but (Dave, I think) replaced the necessary part and had me out the door again in less than 20 minutes.
The third experience was when the replaced part mentioned above started making some funny noises about two weeks later. After a few diagnostics, during which time it wasn't even immediately clear if the part really truly needed to be replaced, Ron replaced the part anyway, free of charge, probably just to make sure I was happy.
Overall, every single time I've walked into the shop, I've felt as if they care how I feel when I walk out. As a result, this is now my bike shop. The bike shop I originally bought my bike from (who shall remain nameless) does free work on my bike, but after one too many "take a number" type experiences there, I am now more than willing to pay for the very reasonable rates and outstanding service at...
Read moreDon't believe the HYPE! the owner (I believe) is the only knowledgeable person there but carried on like a used car salesman. Young mechanic (at least thats what he claimed to be) must have been stoned because every time I asked for something he would ask the other mechanic what I just asked, then when asking the price for a part with the sticker being on the box he gave me wrong prices three times. I am sorry but why do ask if one needs help if you young lad cannot differentiate between 4 and 9? When walking into a store and one asks "do you have ?" a simple yes or no would do the trick not breaking out your catalogs and then showing me a suggested retail price followed by "I could get that for you...oh, but my supplier is out of that for the next six months" Went to this store because was in the area and reading reviews but that was a big mistake. Really do not know what these other people are talking about praising this shop...take a trip to Pats 605 Cyclery in Norwalk, Fullerton / Buena Park Bicycles or Jones Bicycles in San Marino and then you will have visited real bike shops. Have been riding bikes since age 12 building/repairing since age 16 and going to be 40 soon...Just to be a good sport I did end up buying something and when receiving my change was expecting a receipt, after about a minute standing there I simply walked out and was on my way. Have been to a number of places in Southern California and must say will never be going back to this...
Read moreCall the shop Saturday morning on 4/8/2023 at 9am, I asked if I can bring my moutain bike for drivetrain clean and bike wash, and my road bike always get flat tire at the rear, I asked if my bike can be ready same day for the service , the owner Ron told me they can if I can bring my bikes in at early as possible. So I took the drive from Riverside to Temple City and got their at 10am. Ron helped me with the rear tire, I decided to get bigger size of tire and wasnât sure if it will fit , Ron let me try it and out it on , it does fit and no rubbing. So my road bike is done. He then told me my mountain bike needs longer time to clean the drive train, estimated 4pm but will call if gets done earlier. So I hang out around Temple City for most of the day while getting my bike serviced and shop called at three pm said the bike is ready. Itâs amazing they service the bike same day unlike other shops needs a week for service. I will come TC Bike Shop for all bike services, even if I need drive from Riverside to Temple City. Itâs worth the drive for the service...
