My husband is an avid dinosaur fan so we had to visit here and see for ourselves. He purchased tickets ahead online so we skipped the process at the park. It was a good choice to come in really early, the humidity was already high but our walk wasn't too uncomfortable. Pack water, snacks, hat and sunblock with you, a cooling towel might also be a good idea. We made it to Ballroom and saw some smaller tracks there. A few guests around were helpful on how to find the better tracks. The walk is a little longer and we also took the wrong turn. The terrain varies a lot, there's sand and limestone along with rocky paths, we didn't need a hiking stick but it's not a bad idea. There were quite a few people there and a guide talking about the discovery of the tracks. We just overhead them but did our own exploration. My husband took more pictures than I did! He was so excited. On our way back, a lot of people were walking into the trail so I'm glad we went a few hours earlier. We went to the gift shop to get souvenirs and cool off. They have a good selection of items. After that, we walked to the restrooms which were surprisingly clean and in good condition. The only problem we had was that due to the lack of parking space, people park behind you and we barely had any room to get out , the person behind us parked a little too close for us to maneuver the car out safely so I had to help direct my husband to get out without hitting anyone. We had a Karen standing there saying that 'we could have gotten out 20 minutes ago' even when I apologized and thanked her for her patience. We were not even on her way and she could've gone around us bc there was plenty of safe walking space. Aside from that, stay out of the water bc there's a warning of amoebas, people were letting their dogs and children play in it with total disregard of...

This is a hard one for me. I stayed at site 6 which is .45 miles from the parking lot. It is a walk and walk and walk in site. This is fully disclosed when you rent. I will warn you that it is serious when you think about making three trips to unload your gear you will walk 2.5 miles in total, Need a bathroom...thats a mile around trip. It stacks up. The sites are right on top of eachother, which makes no sense at all with the distance you have to make to camp there. You will be in full view and hear most everything the 3 sites around you are doing. The trail for the most part is sand and rock with some mildly steep inclines at the start. There is one single shower in the whole park and its located in the Rv section. It was closed for renovations, Both mens and womens. This is a laughable failure for a park that is 60yrs old. No park of this size with this many sites should have a single shower facitlity. Need a cart? They have them and will rent it to you for half the value of the cart. Its a cloth wagon that you can buy for $30 online but rent here for $15. I have to say the park is beautiful and worth a visit. It was however designed very poorly and there will be multiple frustrations to overcome if you plan on staying more than just the day. I wish it was better equipped and I had known more about the place before attempting a 3 day stay. I loved walking along the river, seeing the dinosaur tracks and the place is spectacular in spots. If you plan a trip here do your reseach. I read in one review the Loco Coyote is great but they didn't say that its nearly a half hour from the park or that it is closed on mondays. Your best bet is heading back into town, also many places here close quite early as well. If you go to camp, aim for camp site 3, it looked to be the best of the lot and only...

Went back for a second visit to see the dinosaur tracks in the Paluxy Riverbed at @dinovalleysp. The river is a bit higher now than it was in October 2023 - made for an interesting comparison of the different Dino track sites. 🧢👕: @Chill Country 💦: @rambleraustin #dinosaurvalley #glenrose #texas
