I had the privilege of visiting the Fort Bliss Museum, and I was truly impressed with the experience. The museum is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating journey into the rich history of Fort Bliss and the military. The collection of artifacts and exhibits here is remarkable. From the well-preserved uniforms and weaponry to the detailed accounts of historical events, the museum provides a comprehensive insight into the military heritage of Fort Bliss. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the area's past, there's something for everyone to appreciate. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering guided tours and answering questions with enthusiasm. Their passion for the subject matter is evident, which enhanced the overall experience. The museum's layout is well-organized, making it easy to navigate through the various exhibits. It's a perfect place for both individuals and families, as it educates and entertains in equal measure. If you're in the Fort Bliss area, don't miss the opportunity to visit this museum. It's a great way to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and learn more about the history of this remarkable military installation. Overall, the Fort Bliss Museum is a must-visit attraction, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in military history or those wanting to gain a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by our armed forces.

Located on Ft Bliss, this very large building holds a number of tanks, artillery, and other vehicles used over he years by the US and other Armies. There is not a lot other than these various military vehicles in the building, in fact it is probably more than half empty space, so lots of room for growth. Still, it provides a great opportunity to get up close and personal with every major tank iteration the Army ever used. All are hands off, but each has a nice poster with the very basic information about the vehicle. Didn’t take long to wander through but enjoyable experience as an Air Force veteran from the Desert Storm era. Kids will love this too.

I could only see the tanks, which were great, with one exception: the plaque for the M4 Sherman. The museum mentioned two engines but left off the first (my favorite, so American “make do” in a pinch) Chrysler Multibank gasoline engine. That engine was installed in the early model M4 hustled off to war, the Grant was a dismal failure and had to be replaced quickly. That engine should not be left off. Also, the V2 Rocket is gone, please bring it back!

So much information can be learned while visiting the Fort Bliss and Old Ironsides Museums on the grounds of Ft. Bliss. If you are interested in military history, you must visit. The museum is located next to where the "old" commisary used to be....very easy to locate; very convenient. There are some terrific displays of items, equipment, vehicles from several war eras, etc., and you will gain information of the history of Ft. Bliss. It is great to see and hear children so excited to see certain examples of aircraft up close.....not just one in a photograph in a book....so wonderful and important in teaching children of pieces of historical significance. Not only do I enjoy the educational and historical aspects from the museum, my time and visits also bring me a sense of comfort and serenity in remembering a very special uncle who served six years with "Old Ironsides", served as a major in WWII, and always spoke so fondly of memories while at Ft. Bliss. I hope you will visit...will be an enriching and...

Good museum. I'm a bit of a history nerd and always love visiting the base and unit museums wherever the Army stations me. The museum is really open but has a good amount of exhibits. The only thing I would say that keeps it from being great is that it feels like there's still a lot of space to fill up and wish there was something interactive in it. The airborne museum at Bragg has a movie theater with seats that move along with the airborne and special forces missions being shown on screen. The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum near Fort Stewart has a B-17 fuselage you can stand in and operate a .50cal as a side gunner to shoot down attacking aircraft. It would be a great addition if 1AD could get a tank or bradley gunner simulator setup...
