Went there to see a Grateful Dead cover band for my birthday weekend Jan 2024. Great coincidence. Show started at 8. Parked across the street in the bank parking lot which was where 90% of the people were also parking. Little confusing as to which entrance was the correct one. Eventually we found the right door that actually opened. Then we proceeded to our seats. It’s a very old building so there’s many twists and turns, staircases and hallways. We sat in the mezzanine which was a great spot to have a relatively Birdseye view of everything. Very limited concessions stand. Don’t know if it’s like that for every event or not. Beer , wine, and candy/chips. Obviously water also. Smoking area was a courtyard or out front. There was an elevator for those not good with stairs. Historic opera house built in the 1880’s. Funny thing is, I have been but will NEVER support a venue that requires me to "show my papers". World War 2 much? The fact that they actually make a statement that they are not discriminating is mind blowing. Perhaps a definition should be provided to them? Read moreThe Opera house is part of the Thomaston Town Hall that has, and continues to be, lovingly maintained and restored to it's early 20th century roots. As a smaller forum there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Operated by Landmark Community Theatre who put on quality shows on a regular basis (generally 6 productions per year).
