Cutie Pies Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Thomaston

Let me begin my review by saying i’ve been a loyal customer to this business for the past 12+ years. Every year i’ve ordered the same flavor and style of cake: chocolate with oreo filling - their oreo filling is truly the most delicious. Both my extremely picky sons & guests alike have grown to love & look forward to it.

This year i opted for break apart cupcakes as opposed to a full cake like i usually get. The break apart cake included 24 cupcakes - 12 would be funfetti & the other 12 would be chocolate with oreo filling inside. For this I paid $130.

I picked up my order and headed to my son’s birthday to assume business as usual. To our surprise, when it was time to eat - none of the cupcakes had been filled with oreo filling. & as such, no one - including my son - chose to eat the plain chocolate cupcakes.

I quickly wrote Cutie Pies & informed them of this, to which someone responded that they would give me 6 free cupcakes (even though the cake was supposed to include 12) following Tuesday or week later. I wrote back that even though she offered 6, the 12 cupcakes that were made incorrectly were for a birthday party that would be over by then. I preferred to be compensated for the incorrect order.

Cutie Pies continued to fight me on this & said on their end the order was fulfilled since the picture i asked for was included in the cake. Completely disregarding the fact that we wanted to EAT the cupcakes, not LOOK at them. They wanted to provide a discount should we ever place a future order - assuming that I would even be making another order without doing what they should have to make things right for THIS order.

Ultimately i was offered a mere $10 for our troubles, in spite of the $130 i paid. My family called to inquire afterwards how much a dozen cupcakes with oreo fillings would be as a stand alone & was quoted $42 - this WITHOUT any designs or pictures, which my cake included.

What was even more upsetting was having to go back and forth with the owner Tanya on the phone & hear her laughing at me for even questioning them or their business or the fact that my hard earned money was wasted. All I was asking was for them to make things right for the money that I already spent. $10 isn’t reasonable by any standards and the unprofessionalism was a slap in the face after all these years.

Finding great food is lovely, but being treated with respect and integrity in this day and age means a whole lot more and I pray the staff there never have to find themselves in the situation they put me in. Needless to say due to the experience over the last few days, I absolutely do not recommend...

I am SO thankful for Tanya. My husband and I went into cutie pies looking for a wedding cake (this was before he was my husband.. ha) and we tried all their delicious cakes with all the different fillings and frosting. ALL of them were so delicious! We settled on four different combinations, the combinations were endless so this was a very difficult task for us especially since we LOVE cake.

As time passed we needed to bring in some stuff for the cake so Tanya could decorate. We went in 8 days before the wedding to drop off the stuff. While we were there we were looking at all the different cupcakes they had in their display case, they ALL looked SO SO good! So of course we had to buy a couple of them and try them out. We were SO blown away by how they tasted and not to mention the presentation was absolutely beautiful.

When we went in for our tasting, Tanya asked if we wanted cupcakes and we said no, so we didn't even look at them. . As we were eating these amazing cupcakes, I just kept thinking to myself did we make the right decision...

We live 45 minutes away from Cutie Pies which isn't too far, but the whole drive I was thinking to myself "We need to do cupcakes instead" My now husband but fiance at the time could tell my mind was going crazy and I finally told him I wanted to switch to these beautiful cupcakes!

We called Tanya when we got home, we were so nervous she wouldn't even entertain the idea of changing because we were now so close to the wedding. Tanya's response was "It's your day, what ever makes you happy" and so she was great about walking us through different flavors. We went with 10 different flavors and they were what EVERYONE was talking about at the wedding!

We tried ALL 10 flavors after the wedding and each and every one of them was just absolutely DELICIOUS!!!

We couldnt have been happier with the flavor and presentation of the cupcakes, and most of all Tanya and her team!

I ordered a small cake and cupcakes for my daughters sweet 16. We ordered half white cake and half chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting. We showed an image to the girl we ordered with and we’re so excited.

There was a small glitch on the order and Tanya had called me just two days before the event.

I have to say, she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Somethings had been miscommunicated upon ordering and when she called for clarification she explained everything to me, and we came up with ideas on how to get it done. She was going to offset the decorations (little fondant butterflies) on half the cupcakes since it was written on the order that I would provide them.

And let me tell you, Tanya worked her magic and the cupcakes were not only delicious but absolutely beautiful. The colors and decorations were absolutely perfect, she did not do half of the cupcakes with butterflies she in fact made sure all of them had the same decorations and I can not recommend Cutie...
