Wampum Lake — Attraction in Thornton Township

Update... As you may or may not know I adore Wampum lake. In my last review 5 stars. I referred to it as a hidden treasure, clean, peaceful, relaxing. To my dismay its no longer the "clean" place it once was. Security needs to tighten up on those dog owners who DON'T pick up after their pets!! Be responsible!!! A guy tried to tell me it was goose poop...all be it there are plenty of geese around... all that poop didn't belong to them. We pay our taxes to have clan, well maintained forest preserves. I just went and admired the water from my car because I was constantly looking down to make sure I didn't step in anything. Im disappointed. This was definitely one of my favorite places to come pray, reflect...

Beautiful and clean great place to relax and it got some nice trails for some mtn biking not hard but simple and fun , I had no problem getting around on my 26er hardtail . Ground was great hardly any roots great shade "OH" yes watch out for the deers hahaha wasn't expecting a deer in there , kinda freaked me out as it ran past me lol . I'll be back I only explored a little bit kinda...

This Forest Preserve was just beautiful and amazing for our family reunion this pass weekend, the lake was so peaceful, several family members sat by the water just enjoying the view , the huge picnic area was very clean , amble tables and garbage cans, also both portable toilets was clean , our entire family enjoyed this place , kids had a great time I would highly...
