Carpenter Park Boathouse — Attraction in Thornton

Very nice local park. Playground with plenty for the kids to climb and play on. Large, wide open grass areas, pond with geese and ducks swimming around. A carousel that requires tokens is available sometimes - you'll have to check with the city to see schedule. Fixed restrooms - not porta pottys.The restrooms are okay but could have used a little cleaning the day we were there.

Tons of fun to ride the boats out. The first half of super enjoyable and you are loving it. Then you start to get tired and sore and hot. But it doesn't matter. Your are out into the middle of the lake and you have to power your way back. Under the bridge is the only place with shade. Hahaha! I loved it. Every single minute. There are turtles, fish, birds, ducks and dragon flies. I suggest bringing a pair of polarized glasses so you can see the water creatures better. Very pleased with the...

Love this park! It's ginourmous and has so much attached to it. You have the rec center at the top of the hill, several picnic areas close to the top, a park for the kids, a few walking trails, a small pretty lake, a basketball court and a carasoul for crying out loud. For being so big it's very easy to see from the streets and a good place to spend time with the family...
