I visited Blackie's Pasture yesterday, (January 2024) after learning of this beloved, and legendary horse. The bronze statute is life-size and more beautiful in person. Two little girls were sitting on it, having fun with their Dad standing by. The girl kissed Blackie's snout when she got down. His energy and spirit are alive, and he still brings happiness to all. The grassy pasture is large and well maintained. Off leash dogs are permitted in this area and on leash for the pathway. It was a warm, sunshiny day, and the park was beautiful and peaceful. It got breezy and a little chilly at times. The shoreline path is accessible for all mobilities. It was great for walking and spacious for everyone and their furbabies and bicyclists to enjoy; there is a small playground and swings. Spectacular views of SF landmarks. It was fun watching all of the various boats and 2 brave jet skiers by the Golden Gate bridge. There are lots of seabirds to watch and a couple of bald eagles were soaring over the path. Wooden benches were plentiful along the way. There were hints of spring with some flowers in bloom. The bathrooms were immaculate and fully stocked with all the essentials. It was a lovely...

Not so fabulous for goldens. But all in all, we...
Read moreThe path from Blackie's Pasture to Belvedere Island is a great place to go on bike rides, runs, walks or literally anything else. The path is very well-paved, and allows for access to parks, fields, and a beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay. Since the path is well paved, it is very accessible to everyone, and is very smooth all the way down the path. As I have run here multiple times, I have never failed to find parking in the lot, which is really a trait that other trailheads don't have. Definitely a great place to get some...
