Cook Park: A Magical Oasis in Tigard
Cook Park is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited. Nestled in Tigard, this park radiates a warm, positive sun energy that makes every visit feel like a retreat into nature’s embrace.
With two soccer fields and two baseball fields, it’s a fantastic spot for sports lovers, while the state-of-the-art playground keeps kids entertained for hours. The butterfly garden is a peaceful sanctuary filled with vibrant colors and delicate wings dancing in the sunlight. But perhaps the most enchanting feature is the river, where kayakers and paddle boarders glide effortlessly across the water, adding to the park’s serene atmosphere.
Beyond its natural beauty and recreational offerings, Cook Park has a unique charm—small trinkets and treasures left behind by kindred spirits. Whether it’s a painted rock, a tiny figurine, or an unexpected token of goodwill, these little surprises make every visit feel special.
Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a touch of magic, Cook Park is a place that welcomes all with open arms. It’s a true gem, and once you experience its energy, you’ll understand why it holds a special place in so...
Read moreWe came here to help serve food to the single adults who were attending a regional conference for the church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints especially just for single adults 30 and over.
It was a fun time! There was great food, plenty of games and many singles having a good time talking and getting to know each other. The Church offers many groups opportunities such as this at no charge to them.
This park was a wonderful place to have a get together like this with many people in attendance. The park allowed the area to be reserved and it accommodated a large group.
We were in area 4 and there was some construction in the adjacent parking that wasn't a big problem but took up 4 spaces right in front of the pavilion.
The park was picked up and clean... pretty well maintained. We didn't use the restrooms so cannot comment on them.
We can recommend this park and the gatherings put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints....
Read moreMy review is of the river access only. This is a popular spot for swimming, paddle boarding and the like. There is a dock and parking quite close, although of course it fills up on hot days. Porta potties were well maintained . The river is very slow, not very deep or cold in mid summer, and feels pretty safe even for mid range swimmers. Teens are always challenging each other to jump from the clearly prohibited but ridiculously tempting and easily climbable pump tower on the opposite bank. (Hint: stand on a paddle board to reach the lowest rung!) On the negative side, there's not a ton of shade close enough to the river to actually monitor your kids, the bank is fairly steep, and of course the river bed is very, very muddy. Entering or exiting the river anywhere but the dock is a messy proposition. There is one picnic shelter near the river, but again it's not close enough for parents who want to keep an eye...
