Trying to purchase from GameStop is extremely challenging. The website offers promotions that advertise certain discounts in the store as well as online. The website also advertises availability in-store with same-day pickup and a discount if you purchase online. However, there is no way to get these promotions, because even though the website advertises same-day pick up - it only allows for next day. When attempting to call the store to see if there’s someway to expedite the order, if it’s placed online, there’s nothing they can do. They cannot pull it forward or use and receipt to allow for early pickup. They can’t price match their own website or match promos their website says exists in store. Even showing them their OWN website doesnt satisfy the management. After calling the competitor and finding out they were only $10 more they gamestops trivial sale price, i went to the competitor and paid $10 more than dealing with the back and forth nonsense with Gamestop. I did attempt to call GameStop first via their customer service number, I received a message that said they’re very busy and to call another day and hung up on me. I was only able to get through to the store to ask the question by calling five times, the first four times the phone system answered and said they were busy and to call later and disconnected. Gamestops Stock price is down 36% year-over-year, & I can’t say I’m surprised. Customers who want to spend money at GameStop (with plenty of other options available to them also) cant do so and are met with numerous challenges, false advertisement and zero support when needed. Sounds like a sinking ship to me! I think I will save myself any further frustration and just visit the local competitor. On first contact, they answered the phone, were ready to help, offered to match GameStop’s price and let me know i could surely pick up tonight! With the horrible amount you give to trade in your still making a killing giving your pro members a better deal than you currently give. And pro days which turned to pro weeks are even more of a joke. This used to be something to look forward too, it was like a black Friday deal and you would even impulse buy, but now it's a random sale of stuff that you have too much of like clearance merch. Read moreI bought a PlayStation 5 controller online for $74.99. I went into the Monroe store to pick it up. When I got home I noticed on the box that it was actually $54.99. I called to see if I can possibly get a price adjustment, and they said no. I asked why, the store manager "Joe," said that the price is $74.99 and they never changed the price tag back to the original tag. So it still had the old tag on there that said $54.99. which is not my fault that they did not change the price tags. I'm just requesting the price adjustment. And they're making it very difficult. The store manager customer service skills were awful and I believe that she should not have that position.
