The concept of this place is great. That being said, they definitely need to work on their customer service. This place is NOT neurodivergent friendly. Took my 6 year old autistic daughter here yesterday along with the rest of my family and the lady that was helping us was impatient, cynical, and rude in the way she addressed my daughter who was excited about the experience. My daughter said she would rather not wear the shoe protectors because the material bothers her skin where its touching and that is her choice and my choice as her parent to allow her to get her shoes dirty ( I was already prepared for that and had old shoes on my daughter). The lady's reaction was as if she was offended that my daughter disobeyed her orders. It was very strange. After this, I did tell her my daughter is autistic and asked her to be patient, and I felt like what I was saying to her was not even acknowledged. Then my daughter asked about the drums and the lady's response to her was "wait for instructions" in a snarky tone. Like what? She is a excited 6 year old. I don't think this women has any patience with little kids or knows how to address people that are different than her. Now I'm assuming that she was acting this way because she was rushing but if you need a better process for getting people going at the beginning of the timeslot then that is what you need to focus on. Because your business has not thought of a more organized way to get things going, that is not the child's fault. I had high hopes for this place but we were met with staff that was rude and short tempered. Very strange for a place that you PAY to have a fun and relaxed experience. They should keep that in mind. And also, be a good human.
Editing my review to respond to the owners sorry excuse for an apology below. Of course, what 6-year-old doesn't have fun throwing around paint? And because I didnât allow the sad person that is the owner of this company bring us down, we managed to turn things around when the owner left the room and my daughter was free to be herself! đ I will continue to advocate for the special needs community and WILL let them know when a business is not a safe space for them.
Also, there was another review below stating this place is overpriced and the owner of this company dared to respond to them with âwe are sorry you canât afford usâ. Let me tell you, this place IS overpriced with its dollar store small canvases and thinner than Saran Wrap ponchos. This is my opinion and I CAN afford...
Read moreThe actual experience of painting at Spin and Splat was very fun and unique, however our group was VERY unhappy with the employee who worked with us. She cut our experience short by 5 minutes. I know this doesnât seem like a lot, but when you pay over $120 for an hour, you deserve to get the full amount you paid for. Not only did she come in and tell us that we had to âwrap it upâ quickly, the reason she gave was that another group had decided to do the Splat room right after us at the last minute so she only had ten minutes to âprepâ it. Iâm sorry, but thatâs not my problem. We paid for the full hour and should have been given that time. She was also extremely rude in how she ushered us out the door, stating many times that she was âshutting us downâ as we were trying to clean up and get out (all before our scheduled end time, mind you). Prior to the negative staff experience, I would have absolutely recommended Spin and Splat to a friend! However, I am now not planning to return and have told 3 others who have asked about our experience the same. Customer service is not what...
Read moreWhat a fun and unique addition to Northwest Ohio! We just did a day date here and had a blast. The owner greeted us at the door and took all the time we needed walking us through the spinning process. She started us off with a couple practice sheets so we could be sure to get the outcome we wanted on the final canvas. No shortage of colors, tools, shapes, etc. to use your imagination with. Very fair pricing and a great memory to cherish!...
