Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy — Attraction in Topeka

My wife and I took our granddaughter to see “Camp Rock” last night. We have been going to Academy shows for many years, many of them under the direction of Cassie Hermes. We all loved the show! The singing and dancing was outstanding, the costumes and stage were beautiful. It was a very larger cast, about 20 cast and 10 crew, and they filled the stage with wonderful choreography and smiling, talented actors. Kudos to these kids. These are actors high school age and younger and they always put on a great show. We recommend that you take your kids or grandkids. Every one will enjoy it. TCT is a treasure for Topeka and we are blessed to have a director like Cassie. The shows are inexpensive, not too long, and every seat is close to the stage. Can’t wait for...

Friends and I celebrated a birthday today, June 11, 2021, by attending a performance of The Music Man. With a background that includes working on network TV and major film studios, I've been exposed to a lot of entertainment produced and performed by international celebrities. Not once have I seen a show in Hollywood that outdid what we saw today on your stage. The lighting was brilliant, the acting was brilliant, the dancing was beyond brilliant, even the stage hands, in the black gear, were superb! Our table of six gave cast and crew a much deserved standing ovation! By the way, theater isn't my cup of tea, but today my cup runneth over with delight at watching such wonderful work....

A great local venue for local and semi local talent. The food here is always good. Sometimes it's great. I think they cater it. The premises are well kept and the location is of the beaten path but easy enough to locate.

Talent in a town this size is hit and miss, but I've never left this place without being entertained. Local kids can learn the ropes of theatre production and it gives the community exposure to a variety of both classic and modern productions.
