Pollos Junior Topeka — Restaurant in Topeka

I went there for the first because it looked good and I wanted to try something different. The sign said closed . It was 1130 I thought it might have been a mistake since it was just a sign. So I went in . The door was unlocked but the young man quickly informed me they were closed till 1230 . I found no explanation . The internet said open. They just lost a customer . I am in the business and one thing I know will kill a restaurant is inconsistancy I must add to my review . Although I stand by my statement about the importance of consistency, I have to tell you the rest of the story . After I posted this (I did so before I pulled out of the parking lot ) I looked back and people were going in . I was confused si ce I was just told 1230 . I drove on for a few blocks and decided to turn around. When I got back there (minutes later ) they

We were at Hummer sports park and needed dinner before a game and we decided to try Polos Junior. The girl at the counter explained the menu to us and we both had a half chicken dinner. I ordered the Polos Macha and the wife ordered the regular chicken and both were delivered to the table quickly. Both plates came with beans and rice and the beans were very good with an excellent flavor and the rice was moist and fluffy. Both plates of chicken were warm and moist and we knew we made a good decision for dinner. I took out a half Ranchera and a half Enchitlopado, both were excellent and fresh. Beans, rice and tortillas were fine. Loved the peanut/chile sauce-I'd never had that before. Polite server, and very fast. Three tables inside a small, fast food-y dining area, very loud ranchera music which is normal but if you want to relax while eating, you might get it to go.

Soda and Jarritos are in a cooler and are extra.

The only negative was both meals were supposed to come with a grilled jalapeño and another salsa in addition to the pineapple one, and neither meal had these. I even asked if salsas were in the bags and was told "yes". So a bit disappointing. But...
