Putnam Plaza Shopping Center — Attraction in Town of Carmel

Future businesses beware!

As of the writing of this review, just about half the plaza has been vacant. Within the past 12 months, ownership of the plaza has changed. With that change came price hikes for business owners e.g. their cost of rent. A prime example of a staple business leaving because of the price hikes is Arthur avenue deli. The owner has moved to another plaza nearby with a much more acceptable rate. Some businesses cost of rent has more than doubled since new ownership has taken over.

Please use this review as a warning that the new owner is a greedy, price gouging owner. If you open up a business here, be aware that you will be overpaying. There's a reason why this plaza is dying. No businesses can afford to...

I come here for a multitude of reasons. I deeply appreciate the Laundromat that is open 24/7. Starbucks is Starbucks, common. However, the bathroom for customers is very clean. The empire bagels that is here is a family favorite! The tops market is essential and comes in handy when needing laundry detergent to have for the laundromat. The liquor store that's tucked in the corner has some pretty comical employees that makes the shopping experience more fun. To sum my explanation up there is so much to benefit from while coming to this plaza whether it be dining, shopping, grabbing drinks or getting your laundry off your to-do-list. You'll be happy...

My biggest pet peeve here, is that there are only two lanes between the sidewalk and the parking spaces, people routinely either stop or Park in front of stores, which causes a stoppage of the traffic flow. That only works if there are three lanes between the sidewalk and the parking spaces so both directions can keep moving. Some people are so selfish, they make it hard for everyone else just to make it easy for themselves. There are plenty of handicap spots there for those who are in need.
