CHOP N WRAP - Heard the decent reviews but really wasn't interested but had to do a pick up there. First off, should have been warned because as I walked in someone was asking for their money back because the order was taking too long but I was there for someone else. I ordered their meal and asked if the burgers were well done etc and he said "ask the cooks , I don't know". I then ordered item number two which was for me but they said nope. We don't have that so I ordered another item and they said nope. Finally found something they have on the menu . The third thing i ordered was the fries in case this turned out to be what they called in my military sos(those who know, know)😉.Well it didnt took forever but the wait was not worth it. Overhyped, Over charged ,not as long as wait as others but the burger was dry even with the sauce that was on it that I said don't put on it . Both of our burgers were dropped into the garbage after a few bites. Bonus - the fries that were the back up- not in the bag but I wasn't charged for it. Normally I give places time to get over the growing pains but two things say no- the interaction with person who wanted money back was fatal. They didn't apologize and offer the money and didn't even question it . The second was the lack of managerial supervison of the rest of the staff with obvious disgruntled customers on line . Yes i know they are only open two weeks but the rot starts from the top down and it would need a complete overhaul. If they are here in six months I will try but I doubt it. My advice - great hot dogs and pizza next door, the McDonald's have better burgers or...
Read moreI am writing this review being a person who worked in a Jewish Deli on the Upper West side for years. As soon as I saw the steam drawer I had a nostalgic reminder of the delicious meat and the proper way to store it! I ordered a pastrami Ruben a knish and some latkes. The pastrami was tender, juicy and well seasoned. The knish reminded me of knish nosh on queens blvd, home made and delicious. The latkes were a home run and the house made apple sauce was a really nice touch. The Dr. Brown's soda is a throw back im sure many people will appreciate. I also liked the fact that they take the meat out and cut it in front of you. This is authentic Jewish deli food with a bodega flair. I will most definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu and re order that sensual pastrami.
My only critique would be as follows; we got two half sour pickles. It would have been nice to get one full sour as well. They were out of Brisket, but i can forgive seeing as the place was packed. Seeded rye is a nice option.
It's also nice to see the young guys on a Friday night working the front of house, it tells me this is a family run buisness! I hope they can keep...
Read moreYo, let me just say firrrre 🔥doesn’t even begin to describe it. That smash burger? Straight-up next level. Crispy edges, juicy in the middle, cheese melted just right, and the sauce? Chef’s kiss🫠. It hit every single time. That kind of burger you bite into and immediately hit the “yo, this is crazy good” face🤤
And don’t even get me started on the pastrami sandwich🔥man, that thing was stacked! Tender, flavorful, smoky, juicy… like it was just made with love. Every bite had that perfect mix of savory and a lil’ bit of that spice kick. You could tell it wasn’t no regular deli meat—this was the real deal, slow-cooked goodness. Throw in some crispy bread, a little tang, and it was over. Game over.
The vibes? Chill. The food? Insane. You can tell they know what they’re doing back there, and they ain’t cutting corners.
100% coming back. Like, I already miss it and I’m still full. If you know, you know. And if you don’t—get...
