Saw the Jack O' Lantern Pumpkin Blaze with friends. It was a very vivid, elaborate, and imaginative display comprised of over 7,000 real pumpkins. They were lit up at night, and there were different themes, such as the Zodiac, dinosaurs, cats with arched backs, and a spooky graveyard, with headstones of the Van Cortlandt family. There was also a lighted tunnel, with a starry blue sky and orange lights. Tickets sell out quickly, especially for the Saturday and Sunday displays, and go on sale on September 2nd, for the 4 days of the display's duration. There is a souvenir tent, and alcoholic cider and beer are available for purchase, as is hot cocoa. The shows for Saturday are at 6 p.m., 9:30 p.m., that we went to, and also at 11:30 p.m. The trail itself is mostly made up of cobblestones, and is slightly rocky and uneven in spots, and takes between one to 2 hours to complete. Photos are allowed, and dress warmly, with sturdy shoes. The staff in the parking area, as well as throughout the display trail, were very friendly and helpful. It is best to arrive close to your party's scheduled start, at about 10 minutes or so, before, and not too early. Parking is available in the parking lot of the Cortlandt Manor's ShopRite store, and isn't a far walk from the...
Read moreBlaze was amazing!!! First time visitor. Parking was organized and a breeze. The weather was perfect but the layout was extremely well thought. The walkways were wide, illuminated, and easy to navigate. The displays were so intricate and beautiful. It was simply mind blowing and words cannot really describe how excellent all the detailed work was. The calm, spooky ambient music could be heard through the entire setup. Some fog machines near the circus train looked awesome. There was also mood lights of orange, purple, blue, and red shining up into the canopy of leaves. It looked beautiful!! All in all this is a highly recommended visit and trip. Well worth the admission fee. There was also food, beer, and snacks for sale. The gift shop was impressive and included everything from buttons, magnets, shirts, mugs, toys, books, etc. Visit and you will not be...
Read moreThis is a great place when they have one of their very popular events. They have two major events annually. First is the lightshow where they showcase a wonderful massive number of lights across the field, beautifully designed and put. They decorate trees and the building and everything there. The other event is their best which is called "Blaze" and in that they have a similar set but with jack o lanterns. Thousands and thousands of real pumpkins carved amazingly and combined into massive structures. Just amazing. Both events last for more than a month. Driving there is kind of painful because it's very far from the city (NYC). Parking is free if you have tickets. Going there by train is possible but from the station to the place is a very odd walk on the highway, or you can take one of those "cabs" at...
