If you are new to electric bikes like we were - THIS is the type of place and person you want to work with. I had done extensive info gathering and had a good idea of what I wanted but my girlfriend was a complete novice and a less comfortable bike rider. Riley went above and beyond to ensure she got to try various bikes until she found one she was comfortable riding. He listened carefully to her to ensure he recommended the exact right bike for her - not just the one that looked the coolest or more expensive, but advised her to pick a bike that ended up being less expensive because it was a better fit based on her comfort level. We went out on the trial ride, Riley offers to join us with the second option that he felt might be the better fit for her so she could try both out. And sure enough, it was the right call!
As a salesperson myself, this made me feel very confident about working with Riley.
He then not only changed out parts for her, but delivered the bike personally to our home. I did not buy one on our first trip bc I wanted to try other brands out. He listened to the type of parts and features that I liked through out our time at the shop. Riley ended up, assembling a custom bike, with all the parts that I liked, and brought that bike out to our home also when he delivered my girlfriends bike and offered for me to take it out for rides for over over a week before I made a decision to purchase. I was so impressed with bike - it was exactly what I wanted and he clearly understood what I was looking for, so I called to say I’ll take it!
After riding it for a couple of weeks, I asked about wanting to try out a couple of handle options. He suggested I go back to the shop and he let me try different styles until I found the one I liked. Months later we still love the bikes and are still in touch with Riley who is hooking us up with a shop in our area (we moved out of NY) to add an additional part.
Pedego bikes are not the lowest cost e-bikes (kind of in the middle range of what we were looking at, also because it has a built in 5 year warrenty) but very much worth it for quality, power, warranty (even a theft warranty if you buy their lock), and this particular shop is highly recommended because Riley makes it a great and personable experience. He makes you feel confidant in your purchase and clearly has a passion for...
Read moreAfter renting a Pedego a few years ago, it was always in my mind to get one, There are lots of e-bikes out there but once you really start looking around you’ll see that the Pedego quality is unmatched. The fact that you have a dedicated local bike shop is also comforting knowing that they will be able to keep you on road.
Met Riley at an RV show where despite having a young child interrupting and touching stuff I was able to learn some more details about what Pedego offers. Riley took note of my interests and set up a test ride for me at the shop at a time of my convenience (really a day when the shop was closed). Unlike other shops where I am told to ride around in the parking lot, this was a real ride. After a thorough briefing of the bike’s features we went off and I was able to switch back and forth with the bike Riley was on to test out some different configurations. We chatted about my preferences and then followed up through email.
No high pressure sales. Gave me lots of choices at different price points and was happy to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different bikes and options. Pickup day couldn’t have gone smoother and I am enjoying my new ride knowing that Riley and Pedego have my back should I need it…(though unlikely). It’s evident Riley enjoys what he does and cares about his customers.
Hopefully, I’ll convince my wife to ride soon and we’ll be back for a...
Read moreFrom sedentary to 18 miles in a few hours. If you want to get outdoors, get active and have fun, go rent an e-bike from Riley at Pedego Croton. The bike doesn’t do all of the work for you, rather it makes it possible to enjoy the ride regardless of your fitness level, removing barriers and excuses. My apple watch still logged the activity (it almost seemed like it expressed some surprise like “are you working out on a bike right now?!”) and even with pauses to enjoy the scenery I hit 18 miles in 3 hrs and burned almost 800 calories. To reiterate I haven’t exercised in almost a year and breathe hard when I put on my shoes.
The fat tire bike was stable on everything croton point park had to offer (be careful uphill on gravel though) and let me see parts of the park I’d never been too. I also got to do 4 miles along side my daughter who is a D1 track athlete. Her “conversational pace” is about 9 miles per hour cross country. I’ve never been able to spend this kind of time with her before and it was a gift.
If you’re even vaguely intrigued by the kind of freedom and fun an electric bike offers but don’t know where to start, look no further. Yes you can do an extensive test ride with Pedego before you purchase one, but renting for 2-4 hours is a great experience without having to make a significant...
