I traded in 2 iPhones for an upgrade to the 15 pro and pro max for my wife and I. The manager there said I could get an iPad completely free with “no change to my monthly bill and that the 2 iPhones would be free as well as part of a trade in promotion. When I left I saw my bill pretty much stay the same for a few months until I went to a different and much better Verizon store (in my opinion) and the manager there told me when he pulled up my account that at this previous Verizon store (the one I’m rating with 1 star) took off the mobile protection from both of our iPhones and basically manipulated my account in a very sneaky and slight way so that my bill would stay the same but not because everything was included with the trade in. I felt infuriated and disgusted because they seemed like nice enough guys but I should have known better with how fast they rushed through the process and made it “so easy”. If I were you, I would take my business to the Verizon store in Mohegan lake as they corrected my account for me and were more honest and thorough with showing me EXACTLY what and how they were doing for me. At this shady Verizon store there was a new guy employee who was being walked through the sale and process by the manager and that manager I’m sure is the one who manipulated our account and bill and lied to my wife and I about the prices and fees. His name is Bastiyam B. At least that’s what he wrote in pen on his business card over the crossed out name of the previous store manager. Like I said before, take your business elsewhere. I wouldn’t trust them with touching anything to do with my Verizon account ever again and I will be filling a formal complaint to corporate about this whole...
Read moreA few months ago, I went in to upgrade my iphone. While I was there, I was "given" a replacement hotspot and "free" home internet to try. I was told that the hotspot would not affect my bill, and that Verizon would just send me a return label to return after 30 days for the internet if I didn't use it/ like it. I tried to return the home internet repeatedly to the store within the 30 day window to the store and was told that I just need to wait for the label. Finally, after 30 days and I went back again and they told me that actually I need to contact Verizon to send me the return label. At this point, it was past the return window, so I now had to pay for a device I did not want. Also! The hotspot was not free at all, and was also not returnable after 30 days. I was told it was just to replace the one I already had, and because they told me it would not cost anything, I was like, fine. In fact, they just sold me a device, so by the time I figured this out, the window to cancel it had also expired.
I was repeatedly misled about how to return devices that I didn't want in the first place. I realize that I should have done more research into what these devices were and how much they would actually cost, but they were presented to me as free. They were not. This place cost me a lot of time and money. I also feel like I was intentionally misled by the people working there. Whether or not this was the case, it feels like I was being lied to. Not only will I never return here, but once I am done paying off my phone, I will be...
Read moreGot a new phone yesterday and the experience seemed like dealing with a shady used-car salesman. Prices quoted for what the monthly charge for the phone would be were misrepresented - it will end up being $36/month instead of the $22 I was told multiple times. Extra undisclosed fees were also tacked onto the bill (29.99 for a REDUX membership). There was a $50 equipment initiation fee charged and there will be another $40 upgrade fee charged with next months verizon bill. A $15/month subscription for a protection plan I don't want was also added to my verizon plan. In the store the salesman made out that I was getting a great deal and they were waving taxes and fees, but in reality they were just hiding the fees from me until I got home and could log onto my verizon account and see all the charges that will appear on future bills.
The phone installation also was sub-standard. I lost all of my WhatsApp messages and who knows what else in the transfer process. And, the box also came without any charging cable inside. I think the salesman pulled it out during setup and forgot to put it back.
So beware getting a new phone...
