We didn't go to the Visitor Center first and should have. We didn't see it since we parked in the first parking area that we came to. There are two parking areas. Go past the first one on your right to the bottom of the hill where there is a large parking area and the Visitor Center. There is small entrance fee if you want to see the short film on the history of the Forts, artifact exhibits and a map of the property to guide you. What's left of the Forts ruins are accessible by footpath and trails around the property. It's beautiful and larger than you think. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the view of Lake Champlain while you're there. Be prepared to walk quite a bit and bring water! Another sight to see is the Crown Point Lighthouse and Memorial across the road from the Fort accessible by entering the NYS Park and camping area. Avoid paying the day use fee at the park by asking the attendant if you can just visit the Lighthouse. We were lucky the lighthouse was open and we could take the stairs for a...

This is a very neat site with the ruins of two forts (the French and the British), a museum ($5 admission) and large grounds to explore and enjoy views of the lake and the bridge. Across the street is Lake Champlain visitor center and you can also walk onto the bridge from there. If I had more time here, I would love to see the film and exhibits in the museum, as well as take the guided tour by the docent which is available twice daily at 11am and one in the afternoon. I don't think the hours on Google maps are accurate as I was there on a Wednesday and...

Mind blowing... (In context of course) for those with even a smidgen of history, one of THE most historic spots on this continent (arguably the world): the most important meeting place for mercenary indians to display their scalps, plan their next raids, torture their captives, and decide just how far they would go in pretending their loyalty to the French...who had serious fortification on this point. Oh boy did the Brits want it. Inflection point for just who would control this wild continent. So many ghost here. But don't go if you care more for deals...

Very nice walk perfect for stretching them legs out after a long drive. Views are worth it, the buildings are being fixed and have been fixed where you can’t walk straight thru them but it was “housing” so I guess you shouldn’t lol but you can see where they blocked it off 😆 they have well kept grounds great for picnics! I gave it 4 stars because I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop here, but I was passing thru and it was a pleasant find!!!
