Lawson Boat & Motor, LLC — Attraction in Town of Ellicott

I would not recommend doing business here. I agreed on a trade-in deal with the owner (my pontoon plus cash) and was told I’d get the final amount owed with taxes and fees the next morning. After waiting all day with no response, I decided to call myself. I spoke with Kathy, who stated she would just touch base with the owner to confirm the deal. Kathy texted me the final number, but then told me she wouldn’t send me the purchase agreement yet because someone else was now coming to look at the same boat and that I’d have to “counter offer.” She even compared the situation by saying, “Boats can be like houses.” This was extremely unprofessional. Once a deal is made, it should be honored—not treated like an auction. Very disappointing experience.

I do want to mention that salesman Andy C. was great to work with and was very helpful throughout the process. Unfortunately, the way management handled the sale overshadowed his efforts. Hopefully his “sale” wasn’t taken...

I can't say enough about the great service I received at Lawson Boat and Motor. I'm new to boating and had purchased an old fishing boat. The motor was bad and certain parts were no longer manufactured. The team at Lawson spent weeks diligently trying to find the parts but were not successful. I ended up purchasing  a used motor. Mark, Trevor, the President of Lawson's, Andy and even the owner of the marina all worked to fix problems that kept creeping up with the motor. Mark, knowing the trouble I had had with my first motor, went so far as to come in on his day off to make sure I would be taken care of. The team is incredibly knowledgeable, determined and creative in problem solving. They exhibited top customer service and patience towards me and my little fishing boat.  Kudos and thanks to Lawson...

Lawson Boat and Motor was exceptional to deal with. I bought a used boat from them recently and was very happy with every step of the process. They answered every question completely and honestly. The owner was extremely fair with negotiations...and completed everything that was promised in the deal, immediately. There was no pressure to buy at any point during my 2 initial visits... Just a helpful exchange of information to assist in my buying decision. I am a director of sales for a company and these folks could teach a master class in how to deal with people. I don't recommend anyone ever...but feel very comfortable recommending the owner Andrew and his team. If you are looking for a boat, you owe it to yourself to include these folks in...
