Save A Lot — Local services in Jamestown

Not good compared to other Save-A-Lot stores. This owner is definitely cutting corners and we are getting ripped off because of it.

Bought a bag of "fresh" Cherries. I placed them on the top of grocery bag to prevent them from being crushed. HUGE mistake, the cherries on the bottom of bags were rotten and loaded with mold, leaked cherry juice all over everything in the bag. Had to throw away everything not wrapped in plastic, approx. $30 worth.

Also bought 2 seedless cucumbers, when I pulled them out of the packaging, one was rotten the other was fine.

In the meat department, there were several packages of NY Strip steaks marked "reduced for quick sale" @ 9.99lb.. The fresh streaks underneath them were also 9.99lb. There was no discount. Don't we get scammed enough these days?

The prices on everyday stuff are 5 to 10% higher than my local Save-A-Lot store in Lancaster NY.

The cleanliness of the store was acceptable but I wouldn't...

The cashier was extremely rude. I asked her (nicely) to please move the cat food bags from one cart to the next for me. I said please & Thank you 2x & she responded by saying very very loudly ..as she Slammed the 8 or10 lb bags to the other cart. "WHY CERTAINLY!! B'CUZ, YOU KNOW, CASHIERS WE DONT HAVE BACK PROBLEMS!!!" The tone in her voice said more than the volume of her voice. When whe spoke EVERYONE in the store stopped at looked. She tried to humiliate me. I said nothing more as she obviously has deeper issues. But will never shop at any Save a Lot ever again. So, I am Sure Tops, Wegmans or even Aldis will Be more than happy to accept my business. I will never go back there again. I get customers bag their own items but there was no excuse to be so rude. She could gave just said no, we do not move the itmes mame..or something of...

Love everything prices are great but I do have to complain about someone there named Javier or however it’s spelled. He was called not once but twice over the loudspeaker to come to the cashier to help this poor new guy out whose apparently not been there long. The line was getting long for this new guy and finally after the second time he called for Javier to come up he came up and gave him attitude and told him “don’t be calling my name over the loudspeaker more than once” If he doesn’t want him to do that maybe he should have came up sooner when he was first called ridiculous. Not to mention this Javier guy was standing in front of the coolers blocking people talking to someone when he’s supposed...
