We did the Lyndhurst Mansion on our way back home after checking out from the hotel. We all agreed this was not our favourite mansion to visit. The grounds were probably the best of all the mansions we visited this weekend. Side note: this place charges for house tours and charges to actually roam the grounds, it if you buy the house tour you get admission to roam the grounds. The house itself was nice but all I’m gonna say is if you had that much money to build it, why would the Goulds go with a fake painted marble and painted fake walnut look? So odd but it made the house a bit more unique. For the price of the tour it seemed more than what it was worth. I would do FDRs house or Vanderbilt again.

Lyndhurst after Dark- about $40 per person. Live tour guides. Must go up and down steps through the mansion. No photography inside the castle. 67 acre estate full of history and magnificent architecture. Tours begin every 15 mins. Handicap parking is available. Parking is free. Gift shop inside as well as restrooms.

This is a must see if your near Tarrytown! Been here several times and each time I did a different tour. The tour guides are so passionate and knowledgeable. It takes you back in time and you feel the 3 families love for the area and their home.

I attended the Lyndhurst Flower Show, and the arrangements throughout Jay Gould's mansion will take your breath away! Each room is more beautiful than the next! Afterwards, I stopped in their Cafe and purchased Linzer cookies! OMG YUM! I wished I had more time because the food looked & smelled very appetizing! Their Gift Shop is filled with wonderful treasures! Just...
