Quite possibly the worst venue I’ve been too in my 25 years of going to concerts . I avoided this place like the plague but Neil Young was in town and they said they made improvements but that was definitely not the case . Got a text from the venue about a half hour before the doors opened that GA tickets would be cancelled and you could get a a refund . Apparently the high tides flood the section and they blamed Neil and the Hurricane for this . Uhhhhh guys the hurricane was last week we knew about this why didn’t this cancellation happen sooner apparently this gets flooded at many shows but they don’t tell you that . People travelled far and wide for Neil and this is the thanks they got . No apology just vague instructions from a “security” guard. I asked why isn’t Live Nation or Ticketmaster or whoever in charge here or Neil’s people ? They said I don’t know . They blamed or personally on Neil Young himself I find that hard to believe . I got stuck with a seat that was as far away from the stage as possible to the side and it also cost less than the GA ticket I purchased . Who gets that money ?? Who runs this place ?
Food options terrible , they don’t do substitutions luckily I don’t have a food allergy however this poor senior lady behind me had a dairy allergy and the clerk shouted at her that she needed to get a cheeseburger we won’t change it !!! . I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried . As for the renovations it looks exactly the same as the year 2000. Peeling paint gloomy stairs in the vestibule into the bowl. Dark and depressing . High tide floods the place apparently so they cancelled the GA section and apparently some of the orchestra . Uhhhh there’s a tide report the moon and sun have been around for 4 billion years I think we know when it’s high tide . Total amateurs . Never again . Sucks so much . And before you flag this as a fake review I have the receipts . 👋 here are some pics of me staring at a video screen .
*I know you can’t control the weather , typical tone deaf response . No one said that it was a...
Read moreA view from section 201 row PP for the Halsey concert. The 100 is accessible if you walk down the stairs but there's a guard checking tickets. The view from the 100s section is only marginally better. Row PP which is about eight rows from the back is underneath the overhang of the 300s section above. About four rows up from PP is where overhangs protection stops. I witnessed an empty plastic bottle falling down from above. Luckily the seats in that row (LL?) were just vacated. Jones Beach management needs to invest in cameras that monitor the crowds. God forbid the object was something heavier deliberately thrown down by someone above. They could get severely injured.
The sound was pretty decent considering it's an open air venue. Thankfully Halsey's concert relied heavily on the videos played on the Jumbotron. And they had fantastic camera operators. But if we were relying on just the naked eye? You can't see crap from that far. The picture with Halsey is using the 10x tele on my S23Ultra. 😆
If you're healthy enough to stand on your feet for hours, go have a blast in the general admission pit. Be young while your body allows it! Just know when there's a full moon, water from the high tides will enter the pit and you will be sloshing...
