The FourLeaf Air Show at Jones Beach State Park is scheduled for this Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are set to headline the event, marking their 10th appearance at the show .
Today’s practice session on Friday, May 23, began after 12:00 noon, due to the low cloud ceiling and weather conditions. However, please note that the decision to fly is at the discretion of the pilot in command and is not guaranteed. The show when it was decided to carry on, the Thunderbirds did not disappoint!
For the main event, spectators can view the performances from anywhere along the beachfront at Jones Beach State Park. I was at Field 6 where I got the most awesome footage! Show center is located at the Central Mall . Admission to the air show is free, with a $10 parking fee on Saturday and Sunday. Parking lots open at sunrise and are available on a first-come, first-served basis .

Read moreI visited Field 6 last year with a friend and really enjoyed it, but this time my experience was different. The umbrella rental service didn’t open until 11 a.m., even though everyone told me it should open at 10. They announced it twice over the walkie-talkie, but it didn’t open at 10, nor at 10:30, and finally only at 11.
I had to buy emergency umbrellas from the shop at $35 each, and even then I had to exchange them twice because they were defective. On the positive side, the restrooms were very clean, considering how many people were there, and the parking lot is very close to the beach access, which is convenient.
What I didn’t like was that the sand was somewhat dirty—I kept stepping on trash that shouldn’t have been there. Overall, I’d call the experience pretty average.
The beach gets very crowded after 3 p.m., so I recommend arriving early, bringing everything you’ll need, using the restroom when necessary, and then going straight back to your spot to enjoy your time more...
