As this venue is either expensive or difficult to get to, I have avoided purchasing tickets for events here. I have still avoided purchasing tickets as this ticket was a gift, thankfully. Currently (10/22) parking for concerts is $54 in advance after fees. I believe this rate goes up if it's less than 3 hours before the show. Lots currently either require you to take a shuttle from the lot (emerald parking) or walk under Hempstead Turnpike (Belmont lot). From my experience, both lots were the same price. If you don't leave early, I've heard horror stories about delays to exit lots. The lots as well as the arena are new. Taking the lirr requires a train to Jamaica and a transfer to the Belmont train. From the bellmont station there is a shuttle to take you to ubs, or you can walk (15-20 min). The LIRR only have 4 trains that will service ubs. The first 2 will get you there within 20 minutes of the venue opening. The second 2 will get you back to Jamaica and leave ubs 20 minutes after the event. Do note, the first 2 get you to ubs as the doors open. Doors open is not the time the show starts. There are buses and rideshares that also service the arena, however I did not use them but have heard that the rideshares fees price gouge. The exterior of ubs has a large open area for waiting and is equipped with plenty of trash cans, a digital billboard, music, planters, etc. Once inside, ubs can seat around 19,000 for concerts and just over 17,000 for hockey games. As the arena is new, floors, walls, bathroom, etc are all modernized and in excellent condition. Climate for my event was comfortable. Sections are conveniently marked and ushers are present for assistance. In the lobby area there is no shortage of concession vendors. This is one of the few areas ubs shines as it orders options of food such as chicken fingers and fries, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, meatball heros, etc. Food was priced in accordance with other venues in the area. Alcohol was priced considerably higher. One patron told me they paid $17 for 1 beer. There are both cans available where food is as well as a bar area with bartenders and liquor. Once you get into the seating area, the levels are steep and foot room suffers severely (note photo). Seats had minimal cushions which is more than some other venues (Jones Beach amphitheater), but on par with other indoor venues (aside from Westbury amphitheater). The setup was very reminiscent of Barclay's, which I am not a fan of. Venue sound systems sounded good (through earplugs). During the intermission, there was light music and then suddenly there was loud music for between a minute or two and then went back to light music. I'm not sure if this was routine, but it was certainly obnoxious. For the show I attended, there were 2 fairly sized screens on each side of the stage. Depending on your angle, these can be hard to see. I was disappointed they didn't use the scoreboard used for hockey as msg does to supplement the screens. The stage was a good size and the stage hands did an excellent job. I feel like this venue would have to have a must see show for me to return. Aside from ticketmaster and their fees, this venue has taken a few steps up from nickle and diming you, which seems like the nickel is $50 and dime is $100. This is the worst venue I've visited in nyc/long...
Read moreI went to see the New Edition there with friends and we had VIP tickets. As we exit the show you go down this dark staircase. I am walking down and the small dark staircase is crowded. I am in the middle and feel something under my foot which is an empty water bottle. I take a tumble down the steps and fall on someone. They sit me at a table near the staircase and take my statement as well as one of my friends statement. As we are talking to this staffer a woman in security uniform comes in, now the staircase is lighted. She picks up the bottle and puts it in her jacket pocket. We point this out to the staffer who glosses over this. I subsequently take UBS to small claims court. Because I was out of work for a week because of my injury. They dismissed the first trial, and I had to come back with my witness. I come back with my witness who tells everything that occurred and uh, they, of course, had an attorney there who had a staffer as a witness who was not even there. The night of the incident. The staffer bought a whole book full of rules and regs, and what it is they do, and he was not even there that night. The attorney they had lied on me. I tried to bring it up to the judge, but he just passed over it. In the end, in order to get transcripts and paperwork from them, I had to spend a great deal of money. And the judge, an old white person who sign it with the attorney of UBS. ruled against me, even though I had an eyewitness and documentation from my doctor and from my job that I was out for a week. I had, I've been to ubs on many occasions and always have the IP seats, so I was shocked at how hard they fought. To lie on me and they would rather lose a regular patron to their establishment. Then pay the small amount.I was asking ( which was only to cover my week being out of work) . I would never patronize ubs arena ever again and I would never advise anyone I know to go there because of their devious practices where they care nothing about the patrons. But only...
Read moreWent to the Twice concert last night. It was my first time at the UBS arena. I couldn't believe how friendly the staff were. Seriously. They were all so friendly. Thank you to the staff! When we arrived by car share, it was a quick walk to the arena. We had to show our vaccination card or a negative COVID test with ID. There was a small truck providing quick tests for those that didn't read the fine print. Our seats were in section 116. Based on my pics you can see we had great seats for the concert. In section 116, it's called the dime club. It was a really nice surprise. It had bathrooms with no lines, food service, a bar, dining seating area, and a small merch. area. Yes, the food can be pricey, so eat before you arrive if that's a concern for you. You can't bring food or drinks into the venue. The only tricky part was going home. When we left, our car sharing app wasn't working. Most likely given the number of people trying to leave. We ended up on the LIRR train shuttle to Jamaica. It took a really long time for the train to leave. The train didn't leave for about an hour after the event ended. There were a TON of people on the train and people were standing. We didn't have to pay for the train. The train only stopped in Jamaica. Once at Jamaica, we were able to grab a Lyft. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have waited for a bus. There was a small line but they were actually leaving. Even with all of the bus stops, it would have still been quicker. We were staying about 25 minutes away by car and it took a solid 2 hours to get back to our hotel. Overall...
