Should be able to leave 0 stars. Horrible experience yesterday (Christmas Eve) with the catering department at the East meadow location. We had over $300 of food ordered weeks in advance. Pick up time set for 1:30, we string about 15 mins early to anticipate a line. HOLY COW, The unorganized mayhem that we walked into I was not prepared for, neither were all the other individuals waiting for their food. Everyone standing outside in 14 degree weather waiting at the back of a truck for orders to be handed out. When we first arrived, someone on the mosh pit of people told us “go inside the tent and add your name to the list, that’s how they are handing out orders.” Ok cool seems easy enough. Except there was no signage or direction from anyone that worked for UG’s. Which meant people were walking up to the truck and standing there completely perplexed. People had been standing around for OVER 2 HOURS waiting for their name to be called from this magical list that wasn’t actually being utilized. In fact most of the people who got their orders were people screaming their names into the back of the truck. So while some people were there for 2+ hours, others would get their food in 20-30 mins. Like I mentioned earlier, my pick up time was 1:30 bc my family had dinner planned for 3:00 (should have been more than enough time) we were one of the unfortunate 2 hour long wait times and then we had to leave bc we were going to miss spending time with our family!! So after waiting 2 hours in the FREEZING cold, we had hotdogs and Mac and cheese for our Christmas Eve dinner and received a call around 6 pm that our order was ready to be picked up. Absolutely unbelievable and inexcusable. Uncle Giuseppe’s ruined our family meal and we will NEVER utilize their catering services...
Read moreI love this place, however today was different. I had 4 items I was in line at register 5. 2 full carts were ahead of me. The cashier told me “you have less than 10 items go to customer service, they’ll ring you out” I proceed to customer service one guys being helped. The lady behind the register just looks at me. You need to go to register 1. So I said the guy just told me to come here, which guy they say. I told her register 5. So they repeat it like I’m speaking a foreign language. Register 5?!!? So now I’m at register 1 a lady is front of me I hear customer service say 10 or less. Which is me but they told me register 1. Now there’s 3-4 people lining up at customer service. I’m not sure what’s the issue with this.
1 it doesn’t say 10-or less stand here. 2 there’s no diveder to stand to designate customer service. 3rd they’re rude attitude doesn’t help the situation. If they would of said sir, you have to wait in line at register 1 I’d understand that. So people went ahead of me that weren’t even I. Line is the confusing part.
I’ll just go in early in the morning where there’s no confusion. Also not a great way to treat a customer. I managed supermarkets. I ran front ends of supermarkets. Never was it confusing or handled in the manner. I also designed the signs for your parking lot as well as all of Melville Mall. I think I’d be treated like a customer...
Read moreWe are extremely disappointed with uncle Giuseppe’s service on Christmas Eve. We requested the 1:30 to 2pm time slot. Our order was incomplete and delivered after 5:30pm. Our family party started at 3:30pm so the lateness was very bad. We called for a status update at 3pm and was told the food was delayed and would be delivered in 20 minutes. We called again at 4pm and was placed on hold for 30 minutes. We were told or in this case lied to again that the food would be delivered in 20 to 30 minutes. This never happened and we called again at 5pm placed on hold again and told that the food would be delivered in 30 to 40 minutes…..which was accurate this time. The food order was incomplete with the Caesar salad missing. We called and it was finally delivered at 6:30pm. The food must have been stored outside for a long time because the antipasto was frozen along with the other items. Obviously nothing should have been delivered frozen. It took additional time to heat up the main entrees and delayed things further. The cheese in the antipasto was frozen and not edible. In addition there were no olives. We used your catering services last year and had no issues. This year was deplorable and clearly not up to the Uncle Giuseppe’s quality and standards that our family expected.
