I used to live in East Meadow and I like shopping local. So I thought I'd swing in here and try it out, so I could bring some fresh donuts to the next get together with friends.
The store was empty. I arrived at the same time as another guy, and let him proceed ahead of me. I had no idea that this meant I was never going to get my order.
For some reason the cashier takes five minutes for the person ahead of me. There's only one person working in the store, and the cashier takes five minutes just to take an order, not to make the donuts.
I order four donuts, then sit down, and wait twenty minutes. A guy walks in and picks up an order. It's like he knew there was a long wait. I go up, inquiring if they had my order, and it turns out they never even started making it.
So they can handle about one person at a time, it's 4 dollars a donut.
They can make one donut every five minutes. So the store can make $4 * 12 donuts = $48 dollars an hour. In the entire time I was there (20 minutes), they were able to handle one customer who walked out with a small bag. How is this store even able to make any money? There are much better cheaper faster donut shops that don't make donuts on demand. It's just about quality. Their entire business model is garbage, or their employees are trying to destroy the business.
I ask for my money back, and the cashier fumbles on the register, and just tells me he's incompetent and can't give me my money back.
I sat there for a half hour before I had to leave, walked out with no donuts, and they still have my money. As far as I'm concerned, the management is not only incompetent, the employees are intentionally burning this place to the ground.
If he had been able to give me my money back, I wouldn't have felt compelled to...
Read moreI was happy to find out that a location was opening close to home because I normally love Duck Donuts. Unfortunately I can’t speak to the quality of the donuts at this location but I can say that it’s terribly mismanaged. I called multiple times to place an order for a platter of mini donuts. The first 2 times there was no answer. The third time I got a young man that said he could not take my order, only the manager could, and gave me a time to call back. I called at that time and spoke to a woman and placed my order. She told me I did not need to give her the flavors at that point, and to call back with them. I called back twice after that to give my flavor choices and was told only a manager could take that information. I was tired of calling back so asked that the employee just take the information and leave a note for the manager, which he said he could. Finally, the morning of pick up I called to confirm that they got flavors and I was shocked when they told me they were not making mini donuts because something was broken! I asked why no one called to tell me and the response from the manager was that the person never should have even taken an order for mini donuts, it’s been broken for days. I asked what he could do since my party was in less than 1 hour and his only suggestion was that I could go to the Garden City Park location (which is much further). They did not seem very apologetic nor did they bother to offer...
Read moreI tried this place a few times, was really looking forward to them opening and I love giving 5 star reviews on businesses, however I just feel disappointed. The donuts are usually good and fresh when theyre made, but the wait time is very long.. even when it’s not busy. I understand the business is new but its getting to be too much. Also the customer service was upsetting after today. I witnessed two different parties ordering donuts around closing time. They didn’t have enough dough to create a new batch so they told them to choose who wants them lol. After that the gentleman was fine with getting a refund, but wasn’t given anything in compensation for the error like a gift card or something for free for next time etc. After waiting for over 30 minutes we finally got our donuts to eat, and after sitting for 2 minutes, halfway done..I was told the store was closed, I told her I know obviously going to finish my food in a few minutes and leave. The customer service is not going to make customers want to come and I really hope the business owners are aware of that are try to work on it with the...
