BowWow Babies — Attraction in Town of Huntington

Bow Wow babies is wonderful! We had such a great experience. Unfortunately, we had to let our Teacup Yorkie, Coco go to heaven on 10-22-18 which was one of the most devastating things my family and I had to do. We had 15 amazing years with her - although it didn't seem like enough.

Needless to say the emptiness in our home was overwhelming, so we started researching puppies and breeders. I was willing to fly to the Mid West to get a dog if needed so we did NOT get a dog from a puppy mill. My husband heard abt. Bow Wow Babies and started doing our homework, read all the reviews, checked BBB and finally decided on Jan. 3rd to go in to see what dogs they had.

From the beginning we knew we wanted 2 puppies, but had not definitively settled on a breed, it was either a Maltese, Morkies, Havannesse or Yorkies. We got there at abt. 7:00 on Jan. 3rd, not realizing their 8:00 p.m. closure time was for during the holidays only, a nice young man, Sam, politely told us they were closed....I was abt to walk out and take it as a sign that we weren't meant to get dogs from there, but my husband asked if there was anyone there we could ask some questions because were interested in getting puppies. Sam said he could answer any questions we had.

We explained to him what we were looking for, 2 Yorkies possibly and it just so happened that that day they received 2 Teacup Yorkie puppies - a brother and sister. He said he could show them to us thru the glass, but we would not be allowed to touch them - which I completely understood, these are puppies who have not received their shots yet. As soon as he brought the little munchkins to the window we knew they were meant to be with us.

Everyone there from Sam, Simone, Jeff, Lisa were so great and helpful. Sam spent over an hour with us going thru the care and what the puppies needed, answered all of our questions. He was beyond helpful. The fact that we were able to go right next door to the Animal hospital to get them checked out gave us so much peace of mind.

Now we have these 2 amazing, loving creatures that have livened up our home so much and helped us to heal from the painful loss of losing our beloved Coco. i recommend going there if you're a serious buyer and respecting their rules, they're not there to stop you from seeing the puppies or interacting with them, it's there to protect the babies!

Daisy and Max have settled in very nicely and filled our hearts with more love then we know what to do with and we can't wait to watch them grow up.

I traveled a long distance to BowWow Babies, excited to find a sweet puppy for my 8 yr old daughter as a Cxmas present. I viewed a few Utube videos that John posted online about their puppy selections. I spoke with John in advance and he was very helpful. The puppies were selling quick and most of the hypoallergenic cutie pies had signs of forever homes posted over their cublicles. I explained to John that we were searching for an active puppy that was playful, healthy and sweet. John had the perfect Shih-poo that pounced on me and my little girl. He couldn't stop licking and playing with us. It didn't take long for us to decide that little man Skyler is a keeper. Christina was very helpful in setting us up with instructions, training and making some beautiful purchases in the boutique for our little guy. Skyler was up to date on his vaccinations, but I needed piece of mind and took Skyler to the Animal clinic next door. The Vet gave a thumbs up on his health. I returned to the puppy store and Skyler was taken to the back for grooming and he was also fed before our drive to Skyler's forever home. I'm over the moon with our new addition. Skyler is super smart, very playful, with a great Big appetite! We took Skyler to the Manhattan Animal clinic for heartworm prevention. The Manhattan Vet confirmed that Skyler is healthy and strong. Skyler potty trained in 2 days! A great Big thanks to John for taking the time to listen and understand our puppy needs. John also managed to work out a better price for our purchase. He just gets it. Christina, thank you for all your patience and helping us out with all the puppy details. I will certianly recommend BowWow Babies for anyone that wants to find a large selection of healthy puppies. I had a bad experiance 6 months ago with a puppy purchase, but I can assure you that BowWow Babies staff members respectfully cares for the well being of their sweet puppies. I'm a realist an traveled to many puppy stores and this one is top notch. The store is meticulous, high end in all aspects of keeping their puppies in a clean environment with plenty of interaction. You are allowed to play with a nice selection of puppies, just ask and the employees understand. Just keep in mind that if you had a new Baby at home, would you allow anyone to hold, carry and play with your newborn before sanitizing their hands? Overall, our experiance was very pleasant. My 8yr old daughter and I are grateful and happy with our purchase. Welcome...

Just to give some background, I have gone to every puppy store in Nassau County, and one on the border between Nassau and Suffolk. I asked a friend who had recently gotten a puppy where she went and she recommended BowWow Babies. I went to visit Memorial Day Weekend and I asked to see a puppy. I was asked if I had any intentions of purchasing one that day. I was taken aback because I had never been asked that in any of the puppy stores. I brought that response back up to the lady who helped me (Simone) three times, and her explanation was not only fair, but clearly visible.

She explained that some people want to see the puppies but are not ready to purchase for various reasons (financial, moving, not enough time). Ok, that is totally fair because I wasn't ready when I first started my search. Then, she went on to explain that the store encourages serious inquiries and interactions with the puppies because a lot of times people come directly from other puppy stores where they may have interacted with other puppies, and they do not know what, if any, germs/bacteria/conditions they can bring from those other puppy stores. Now that was TOTALLY VALID. I mean, I was one of those people. I walked in there from another puppy store, where I played with a few puppies. In fact, one of the puppies from that other store (not BowWow Babies) seemed to have a sniffle and I brought it to one of the employees attention. Also, that puppy store was not as clean as BowWow Babies. There is no dog smell at this place, and the puppies seem to roam around freely, which is great.

Simone was patient, super informative, and pleasant to work with. Her explanations and patience has made me decide to purchase a puppy from this store. Unfortunately, they did not have any mini goldendoodles, which is what my heart was set on, but I will wait til I find one there.

I can understand why people feel negatively when asked "well are you looking to buy a puppy today" but the underlying reasons are totally reasonable. I highly suggest that if you do not like the question, then ask why the question is even posed in the first place. I ended up not buying the puppy because my heart is set on a mini goldendoodle. I just found out that they have some in this weekend, so hopefully I will come home with one today.
