If it was possible to give a zero star review, I would. Unfortunately it is not. Two years ago I left a glowing five star review but sadly I must now warn everyone against patronizing this business. Two weeks (actually 16 days ) ago I brought in a ruby ring and Two very slim cz bands to be soldered together. They close at 530 and I rushed there from work barely beating their closing time. I have done regular business there before but was "greeted" by a young woman I have now discovered is the granddaughter of the founder. She was clearly unhappy to have a customer arrive 10 minutes before closing since she was already covering the display cases. She asked me quite annoyed what I needed. I showed her the three rings and told her I would like them soldered t. She said, rudely, well, you'll have to leave them.i thought she must be joking but told her, yes I know. Her exasperated response was, well not everyone knows that. Okay whatever. She said to give them a week. She said someone would call me. Six days later I called to check, on the off chance that maybe they were done. No luck but okay. Called again 8 days later and it was done. Odd that no one had reached out in my opinion. Left work in the middle of the day the next day to pick them up and was shocked to be charged 120 dollars. Today, a mere 24 hours later I went to put the ring I back on and the band to the outside pulled away. The solder points were all at the bottom and they held but now there was a very noticeable gap at the top. So I returned to the store with my receipt today and was once again given the pleasure of the granddaughter. I showed her the ring and told her I had picked it up yesterday. She looked at me and, again with a rude tone, said, well I don't know what we did so I don't know what's wrong. I will call my uncle over since he probably did the work. I showed it to him. His response was that it was still soldered together. I told him the gap didn't look right. First he said he could try to "pinch it together" then said he could add solder points up higher if I left it. I asked if I would be charged again. He said "well I wasn't planning on it but I will if you want me too" (sarcasm must run in the family). When I got home, I was so upset I had my husband pick the ring back up and tell them I will not be using them anymore due to how I was treated. They basically ndidnt care. Good luck with that next generation because it's not looking good.by the way this review is by Jean not Ron. I wanted a fresh review to show on Google so used...
Read moreI'm a little shocked by the last couple of reviews. I had no issues with anyone. I actually, felt appreciated. Knowing nothing about diamonds, I stopped in Jerry's to look at rings. The young lady was pleasant and helpful. Once, I told her I was looking at diamonds and know nothing about them, she said, you need to speak to my Uncle Frankie, he is, didn't catch/recall the whole title. Something, Certified, something, something, Geologist. "Uncle Frankie" ;) came over, he was great, asked what I was looking for. Told him a Diamond. He asked for who and what type, etc. Told him, engagement and I know nothing about diamonds. He said, I can help you understand diamonds. Who knew there was soooo much to buying a diamond?!! Why the costs can be more expensive for a smaller diamond over a larger diamond. One reason he mentioned was how light hits the diamond and refract the light back or was it out? He told me about the secret to diamonds is knowing the 4 C's, Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat. He spent a lot of time with me, I appreciated it. At the end, he gave me a little quiz, he said, I got a A and was a very good student. 🤣. There was no pressure at all. Which I like. We then looked at diamonds, I found one I like. It was outside of my price range. Since I was a good student, he lowered the price. If only my real teachers were like him! I wasn't prepared to buy a ring at that time. He mentioned, he can hold it a week, with no deposit or I could put it on layaway for up to 3 months, no interest. I asked if I could do both. I wanted him to hold for up to a week and put it on layaway. Not a problem. I mentioned I was looking at giving it to her around the New Year. Told me he was married on NYE and it was fun. I found the place warm and friendly. Nice family business. If you go, ask for Frank, especially...
Read moreI was very happy to find a place that would work with my moissanite ring that was bought from a private seller on Etsy. Jerry's Jewelers did a great job of resetting the stone, and cleaning my ring so well I didn't realize how dingy it was until I saw it!
However, I was very upset about their job with soldering my ring with the wedding band, and with their response to my fiance pointing out that the stone was not centered with the center of the band. Upon pointing this out my fiance was told, "Maybe she won't notice." It didn't even take a full 1 second before I noticed. We should not have had to pay full price for a soldering job they A) didn't do correctly, & B) will need to be re-done to fix the job they did.
If their response was something like, "Oh, I'm sorry sorry about that. We can re-solder this so it's centered & have it ready at no charge in X# of days," I would appreciate that. But the response of "Maybe she won't notice" (in addition to being ridiculous) really shows a lack in quality of service & that you just don't really care about the customer. I'm sure not every employee there would have the same response, but the individual who said this should probably be in a different job.
I would go back asking to fix this free of charge, however I don't trust them to touch my ring again. Therefore I'll be going somewhere else to pay full price to make sure my ring is re-soldered to be centered. I'm a very patient, understanding person. My wedding ring is very important & meaningful to me, and I don't want to hand it (& my money) over to people who aren't going to respect what it...
