Room rating: 2 due to it being extremely outdated and even with a nice shower, water splashed from under the shower onto the ground.
Service rating: 1 due to the kitchen staff being literally crazy. That stared and watched after saying loudly that they were going to because someone left waffle batter in a cup out. They stuck around for over thirty minutes to watch the kitchen like a hawk, making everyone uncomfortable. They verbally complained via saying "ooh, I wish I had seen who left this mess here" like a threat, because there were many waffle bits around the waffle maker because every single waffle was sticking to the pan. They said they're sticking because people aren't waiting for the waffle to fully cook via the ding at the end. While, in reality, its because their waffle maker is an older model and the dark material that once helped waffles come out of the pan easier was likely no longer working. They so supposedly aren't allowed to leave the oil spray out because and I quote "management says we can only use the stuff once a day." To me this is wild, especially when you have a older waffle maker model "compared to many other Hampton Inns." The front desk individuals were nice, at least.
The pool was cold to the touch, the doors worked as far as unlocking some of the time, the sheets had some bodily fluids on it upon arrival, the fire alarm system is alarmingly outdated.
1 as far as the location as they use Rochester as a reason to sky rocket the price as if that gives the right when everything is in the current state that it is.
I love Hampton Inn and have been to a few different ones, but I recommend going to the next closest one to here if you need one to stay at and I hope it'll be a...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed one night at the Hampton Inn Irondequoit. We stayed using Hilton points; I’ve found that the lower-cost Hilton hotels are usually better than the lower-cost IHG hotels, so I look for Hilton properties. ||The perfect hotel room would have a comfy bed, quiet throughout the place so a guy can get a decent night’s sleep, a breakfast with high-quality food, excellent blackout curtains, and a near-silent heating/cooling system. Sadly, this hotel wasn’t perfect— more like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. |Pros: Decent sized room, a nightstand on both sides of the bed, a comfy mattress, and a mostly okay breakfast. The furnishings were in good condition and there are a few pieces of moderately interesting corporate art on the walls. Perfectly pleasant!|The towels are nice and fluffy, and the shower supplies were well-stocked. ||The Cons: |- Old-school Amana temperature control system sounded like a Pratt and Whitney aircraft engine; so, nope— not real quiet. |I had to pull away from the wall and plug in, both the fridge and microwave so we could use them. That’s kinda dumb. The fridge and freezer were not cold until it had run several hours. |- Breakfast was average, corporate food. The oatmeal had zero add-ons…no raisins, no honey, no nuts, man, it was a sad affair. There were pre-made western-style omelets that were thin, with a little cheese and ham and seasonings. Tasted ok. The pork sausage is just more corporate food…if you’re okay with that stuff, it’ll fill your belly, but it sure won’t win any awards for nutrition or quality. ||Overall, it’s a decent hotel for the price. We got a good night’s sleep, the staff was friendly, the property well-kept, the neighborhood safe. I’d stay...
Read moreThis was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Didn't end up staying. Never got a refund. Booked through "Hotels in America" and will never book through them or for this hotel ever again. First, the outside door was supposed to be secure and only opened from your key card...was not locked at all. We got up to the room and the door was ajar. We opened and the beds were not made and dirty (pubes and filth). The toilet paper was used and had what looked like a greasy handprint on it. There was one towel a hand towel and what looked like a dirty wash cloth. Floors were gross and dirty and the closet had sheetrock dust covering the bottom. There were no other available rooms and because it was booked "3rd party" there was nothing they would do. So I called corporate to complain as it was late and we have little kids that were exhausted. Corp went back and forth with the guy at the desk and finally it was figured that the hotel would release the funds back to hotels in america so that they would refund me. I called hotels in america and they said "that's not happening." It's in the contract that you can't cancel day of. But this wasn't cancelling day of it was an inexcusable room and hotel for that matter. It's a shame to the brand as I've stayed at the one near Strong museum and it was fantastic. Sadly bc this was wat happened I will no longer be staying with the brand. I've stayed at places that needed an update but never one that was this poorly taken care of. The fact that hotels in america supposedly got the money returned back from the hotel but won't release them to me...
