Date of Incident: April 8, 2025 | Time: Between 9:50 PM and 10:00 PM
This was, without question, the most unprofessional and heartless experience I’ve ever had at a pharmacy. I arrived at the CVS pharmacy after work to pick up my son’s asthma medication—something that is essential to his health and well-being. What happened next was completely unacceptable.
Two women behind the counter—whose behavior made me sincerely hope they are not mothers themselves—coldly told me they didn’t have my son’s prescription. I was panicked and confused, but something felt off. After I insisted they double-check, they suddenly “found” the medication after all. So they did have it—they just didn’t care enough to look.
When I questioned how they could be so careless with a child’s life-threatening condition, the one who appeared to be in charge sighed, made a rude comment, and the other dismissed me by saying, “Well, you came in five minutes before closing.”
Excuse me? I am a working parent doing everything I can to care for my child. The pharmacy closes at 10:00 PM—my arrival at 9:55 PM was still within operating hours, and they are paid to serve the public until closing time. If they didn’t want to help, they should not be working in healthcare. It is inhumane to treat parents and patients this way—especially those dealing with chronic or life-threatening conditions.
I can’t stop thinking about what could’ve happened if I hadn’t pushed for answers. How many other people have they mistreated or turned away because it was inconvenient for them?
I will absolutely be filing a formal complaint and escalating this. These two employees are in the wrong profession, and I hope no other parent, child, or elderly patient has to go through what I did.

The single employee at the registers conducted the entire transaction at the self checkout and blocked off another of the self checkout machines. Only one machine allows cash, slowing things down further. Definitely not the place do go if you...
