This was a bittersweet experience. The girl at the desk had a difficult time looking up my information, I had to log in on my phone and show her my account. Then she asked if I would be renting the room by the hour and promptly asked what kind of hotel I was checking into, gathered my things and began to leave then she apologized and explained some people rent the room to nap while traveling through, this was still odd but chose to continue to check in. The girl seemed confused from the get go. I had to change rooms due to noisy people. The girl that came in for a new shift was on the ball, she took care of the room change, located my information right away and was very polite and professional. The rooms are nice, clean and spacious. Though, up on entering, the room was freezing cold because the heat has not been turned on, once I turned the heat on and the room warmed up, it was much more enjoyable. Linens were crisp, clean and fresh. The towels were clean and fluffy. Then...when taking a shower...there was no hot water, it was more lukewarm than anything and the water pressure was so low it took twice as long to bathe in the lukewarm water. Some of the channels for the TV did not come in clearly, though others were perfectly clear. I did use the fitness center which had the basics, again, ice cold room and the heater did not work. The breakfast was the best part and made up for everything else. The sausage and eggs were tasty. There were plenty of options and all were well appointed. The dining area was clean as was the sitting areas. The girl at the front desk was very nice at checkout.

If there was a way to give less than one star, I would. I think this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Took 3 tries, and dragging the desk clerk to the room, to get a key that worked; we should have left right then. Musty smell to the room, cleared up a little once turning the air on. Stains on the ceiling (bad ones) in kitchen and bedroom. Then found that the bathroom sink leaked, so that the floor was soaking wet. Went to desk to let them know, they gave us a towel to put on the floor. Refrigerator ices over, but then melts, so carpet by fridge was wet. Carpet - disgusting. OK, stained and some cigarette burns, bad enough, but if you walked on it barefoot, your feet turned black. Terrible sleep - the room was so damp, that the pillows were damp. After first night, found that the 5 windows (on first floor!) weren't even locked. Website says "grab and go breakfast, with pastry, fruit, coffee, and juice" - only coffee. Website also says managers reception with beer and wine nightly - NO. Asked to speak to a manager - none there. On checkout, not a single "how was everything" - instead, I said "sink needs to be fixed, and in general the room is disgusting" and the woman working just said "yeah". Not even an "I'm sorry" or a "thanks for staying". Only positive I can say is that the younger guy working the evening shift at least tried to be pleasant. I may never stay at a Best Western again!

Saw this place on line and it looked really nice. We generally like the BW Plus brand too. Was disappointed when we got there. The room smelled musty (although it did get a little better once the air was on for a while). There were several hairs on the floor of the bathroom when we arrived. Also noted a layer of dust/dirt on the windowsills when I went to look out the window. I was going to try to open it to take a pix of the falls, as I could not see through the screen due to fog, but when I saw how dirty it was, I decided not to touch it! We also had the last room down the hallway (119). I would NOT RECOMMEND taking this room as it is by the back exit. I didn't think anyone would use it, but I was wrong. It was opened A LOT and made A LOT of noise each time it was opened and closed. Did not get much sleep. 🙁 When I checked out the gym...well I decided not to use that either. Very bad mildew smell. On the bright side, Octavia at the front desk was wonderful. Smiling as she helped every customer that came in...and it was busy! Also, they had a wonderful hot breakfast included in the price. Make your own waffles, cold cereals, eggs, sausage, bagels, muffins, juices and coffee. And the woman there was great too. Beautiful patio off the breakfast nook. If the weather is nice, definitely take your food outside! Pix below: waffle, the falls and dirty windowsills.

Last minute circumstances led me to stay one night. Initially, I anticipated a positive experience; The Inn has been in operation since I was a child, and its picturesque setting set high expectations for what visitors might see when on the grounds and in the rooms. Unfortunately, my stay was incredibly disappointing. The pungent smell of smoke was evident upon opening the door. I found a random dried up eye-contact stuck to the bathroom wall. A photograph was found just beneath the bed (not so far behind the bedspread as to be out of the line of sight). Maybe I was supposed to find this picture? On the bright side, the hotel is pet-friendly and quiet. I would love to see the rooms updated, deep-cleaned (why was there a visible handprint on the wall?), and the property better managed. Its location promises potential. Stay for the night. Just don’t be surprised if you find items belonging to the previous guest(s). Update: Stayed in their suite a week later. Images posted. The room was much larger than expected as was the bathroom. The hotel has so much potential, but is in dire need of a serious investor to modernize the rooms and amenities.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It is beautifully located 3 miles off the main thoroughfare Route 9 in the majestic Hudson Vally, New York. There are only two levels throughout the hotel. There is a small elevator and the lobby is tight. There is a good sized area right off the lobby for breakfast and lounging. For breakfast, they offer eggs, bacon waffles, cold cereal pastries, juice and coffee. The rooms are a decent size, bright, sunny and clean. It looks like the carpeting was replaced recently. The bed was comfortable. Not too hard, not too soft. As with most hotel, the pillows ae too soft to my liking. The bath towels are not very soft. Free WIFI is offered. There is also an excersise room available. There is a fast moving steam right behind the hotel with small waterfalls hence the name "At the Falls". There is ample parking. However, the parking lot could use better lighting at night. The hotel grounds are beautiful and serene in beautiful country setting. Plenty of restaurants and stores located minutes from the hotel on Route 9.

Tucked away from it all...big spacious rooms. Could use an update but not complaining! Comfortable bed and nice view of the river.
