A beautiful theature which is old. It needs a sign for the entrance because people were confused by going to the front of the building and not the back. Two nice sized parking ramps which allows fir handicap also a short walk for people who have handicaps or mobility issues. The elevator is slow but efficient. I do love the fact that you do not need to climb any stairs to the balcony once you take the elevator. You only need to walk the wide ramp. Wheel chairs are not allowed in the balcony but are allowed in the lower level. Stage is spacious and lights autistic sound is excellent. We saw the Rehersal for Murder which was excellent. Acting was excellent. The show averaged out to be around two hours with an intermission half way through. Soda sweets etc are available to purchase. Senior citizens do get a discount and shows are reasonably priced.

So... The musical we saw was great, the venue is well appointed, the lighting and sound are wonderful. The seats in the balcony are very comfortable and surprisingly have a great view... Mostly. Don't purchase a seat that is second from either end of the central balcony seating. There are very unfortunately placed lighting stands that will obstruct your view, and it always seems the action is right behind the post. There are only a single set of bathrooms, also unfortunately placed, in the basement, since the theater is on the top floor.

We saw 101 Dalmatians here and it was an excellent show. The building has beautiful architecture and is very clean. Plus a fairly cool temperature for being the middle of the summer. The workers were organized and being seated was a breeze. I highly recommend seeing a show at Lancaster Opera House!

Love this theater. I have seen many a great production here. My all time favorites were "FIDDLER ON THE ROOF", and "LES MISERABLES" and "SINGING IN THE RAIN" Which , I believe, were ALL in the same year/season. Seats are uncomfortable and sound isn't always the best, but truthfully I go for the talent, and have never been disappointed. I have to add that I most recently went to 3 performances here. "BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS" "A CHRISTMAS STORY" and. "OLIVER". "OLIVER" was phenomenal, and I enjoyed the other two plays as well. The first more...
