*updating my review from earlier this spring as they seemed to have hired more staff and worked out a lot of the kinks. missed 5 stars because the prices are STEEP (a cold brew with a splash of oatmilk comes out to over $6, and by the time you've tipped the cashier/batista it's over $7) and because the decor is a little cringe (signs that say "adulting is hard," etc.) overall decent cafe and I'm glad it's in the neighborhood, but the prices prevent me from coming more regularly.
I'll start by saying that I understand that they have stated they have staffing issues, and that I've really only ever gotten simple coffees/iced coffees there, so i can't speak to the quality of the food. however, the reason for the less than stellar review is that they can't seem to stick to their posted hours. there's almost no rhyme or reason. they state that they're closed on Wednesdays, but were open all day yesterday on a Wednesday. today, on Thursday, they state they open at 8 and it's 9:30 and there are no signs of life. could be extremely frustrating if you drive/travel to come here specifically. my recommendation would be to call beforehand to make sure...
Read moreGreat local coffee shop. Menu was awesome and had a lot of extras that other coffee shops don’t - Egg and cheese bagel was delicious with the yellow of the egg still soft and gooey. The boba needs improvement. This is such an important place for the revitalization of the village.
It might be worth considering opening back up in the early evenings during the warmer months so residents that don't drink alcohol have a place to go!
An area where I see room for improvement may just be the overall layout and seating - the tables and chairs. Then you could really make this place spectacular. Wish the seating area was a little bigger as well! Also - offering a veggie bacon or sausage for breakfast sandwiches...
Read moreI don’t leave reviews often but this was so bad.
The good: the kids running the front were quite nice, polite and the place was mainly clean. They were busy and kept cool heads
The bad: the coffee and the food. My 8oz cappuccino was turned into a 12 oz latte which was extraordinarily weak. The avocado egg toast had less avocado than a tbsp spread over two pieces of bread. The bread was not toasted just cold and hard… not even stale just hard. The avocado was bland and fried eggs were dead cold. How do you make a cold fried egg?
If you are looking for a good breakfast place with high end coffee no thanks If you are looking for friendly conversation and a bland latte...
