Modern Tradition Kitchen & Bath — Attraction in Town of Mount Pleasant

I was just starting a kitchen renovation and I was not sure where to start. All I knew was that I didn't want to use a big box store. I have driven by Modern Tradition Kitchen and Bath in Thornwood many times, as it is right in my neighborhood, so I decided to contact them. I sent an email and the owner, Felipe & he was prompt getting back to me. He redesigned the kitchen and the new layout made a big difference. He accompanied me to choose quartz for the countertops and sent me to a local reliable appliance store in Hawthorne to order all the appliances. He communicated with the appliance store and made sure upon delivery, everything would fit, etc. I am very pleased with the entire renovation. The company that manufactures the cabinetry was quick at shipping, I had heard that people were waiting 6 months for their cabinetry to come in. When the kitchen was complete, I was very pleased and decided to have Modern Tradition completely renovate the entire townhouse. I am truly pleased that I went with a small, local place in town. Felipe guided us through the design we only partially imagined. He provided us with insight to what would make sense, personal touches to distinguish our kitchen which complimented our tastes and was very responsive on giving us on-line mock-ups so we had a clear understanding of what the finished product would be.

Chris was very clear on what we were to expect in regards to the whole project. The costs, the timing and work were all worked out prior to the beginning. There were no surprises once it began, and he was on top of the whole project. If we had questions, we could call, he was always responsive.

The Riverview Team were always on time, clean, and courteous. Melvin and the guys were very professional and easy to work with. I work from home, in the room next to the kitchen. I didn't even think they were there half the time. I would come out of my office and be shocked, in a good way, at what they did on any given.

I had my kitchen renovated in the summer of 2024, and I could not have been happier with the outcome. This was my first big home renovation in a 1930's home. Felipe of Modern Tradition Kitchen & Bath really streamlined the process, and made it as easy as possible for me! He designed a beautiful kitchen layout, which maximized space and brought much better function in the kitchen. He helped me navigate big decisions and small choices alike--everything from cabinet price points and appliance choices, to sink and knob styles. He was there for it all, and always focused on the details. I appreciated that Felipe let my personal style shine through in the kitchen design, but also gently steered me away from some choices that would not have worked in the space.
