We had the pleasure of visiting Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens in Washington, D.C., this weekend, July 19, 2025, for the Water Lily Festival. My mother and I were delighted to meet several wonderful volunteers who had traveled from New York to participate in the event.
We enjoyed making lotus lanterns and engaging with the many lovely men and women who visited our station. The volunteers were a joy to interact with—warm, knowledgeable, and generous with their time. They shared the beautiful symbolism of the lotus flower and offered an unforgettable performance of traditional Korean Buddhist dance, accompanied by drums and flutes.
