Beautifully well decorated - like a side street in Italy or France .But then a series of unfortunate events . The signage could be better in parking lot as tasting room entrance is behind what looks like the main building . One we entered the area to the tasting room , boutique behind us there was a prominent sign to “wait to be seated”. We waited . The employee in the boutique made eye contact but said nothing . There were also two other employees in rooms in view that also saw us waiting , yet no greeting or acknowledgement. After waiting about five or so minutes saw a door ahead and went forward , then saw a bar inside we went in. It would have been helpful to have a sign on the door to know to go in rather than stand there and “wait to be seated..” one inside , we were greeted by the employee behind the bar and were given the option to sit inside or outside. once seated we were directed to scan the QR code for the menu. After scanning the QR code site was not working. We tried multiple times thinking perhaps we had made a mistake, then informed the server/tasting room person the site was not working. She brought another QR code for us to try which we did with the same results. When we let her know that the QR code site was not working we were directed to try the website- “ It’s the same menu”. We asked if we could just have a paper menus but were told they didn’t have any. So again we tried the website, which also was not working. When we let our server know about that, she became extremely defensive and informed us that she was not responsible for the website. Call to another person in another room and then told us yes the website was not working. They had called the Internet provider and we’re working on it, she was not the web person. We asked if she could explain the menu options to us and asked about a couple of flights we had seen when we had checked the website prior to our arrival . Our server visibly annoyed told us there’s only one flight for the summer. At this point, we felt very unwelcome disrespected, and certainly not at a place that was looking for us to have a nice experience. Clearly, Customer Service is not a priority at this establishment or perhaps the employees working today, so we left, disappointed , as what appeared to be a great venue for a memorable day of wine tasting that was a total waste...
Read moreMy husband & I have been visiting Dilberto for years, so we were excited to try Terra Vite. Since it was fall, we took off of work to avoid the weekend crowds & made a reservation to visit on a Friday (10/8). As soon as we approached the winery we could smell the baking bread & smells from the previous years of Dilberto making fresh pizza. A blond waitress greeted us at the hostess area & told us we could sit where ever we liked. That was where to pleasant experience ended.
There were 4 other tables besides us, & the 2 servers were the blond waitress & a brunette waitress. The brunette was serving the 3 tables to our right, & the blond was busy chatting with the customers at the table to our left. We sat for approx 10 min & watched as the blond still hadn't moved from the table to our left, & the brunette continued to serve the other tables. We weren't in a rush, so at this point not being acknowledged was no big deal. After approx 20 min, we started to get aggravated, especially considering the blond waitress was now sitting at the table to our left, with her legs stretched out, showing the people at the table photos on her phone. At approx 25 min after our arrival & still not being acknowledged, my husband & I got up to leave. That's when the brunette waitress came over & asked if the blond had come over to us yet (I don't recall her name). We told her no, she hasn't moved from hanging out w the table that was obviously her friends/family, & that she knew we were here since she greeted us when we came in. The brunette apologized & wound up taking care of us until the end of our visit, when the blond finally got up from the other table & advised us she would be taking care of us since the other waitress left. That was our cue to leave.
I gave Terra Vite 2 stars only because their wines were actually good (we purchased 2 bottles to go). We also ordered the mascarpone crositini which was very tasty. But if you can't get a server to acknowledge you because they are too busy hanging out with their friends, then it really doesn't matter how good the...
Read moreMay 19, 2025 You're gonna want to read this review! We just returned from another unforgettable visit to Terra Vite Winery in Jamesport, this time to celebrate two special birthdays.-my wife and son-in-law. As always, Terra Vite delivered everything we've come to love and expect from our go-to winery. Great Wine, food, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you're with lifelong friends. Matt and Kat, the HEART and SOUL of the Terra Vite Winery, have a gift for making you feel like family. From our drinks we toasted to each other, to the food, everything was well prepared and beautifully executed. The outdoor venue is a plus with its welcoming atmosphere. The inside with a rustic charm. Honestly, it might be time to rename this place to Terra Vite 3.0 It only gets better with each visit. Make the trip. Its worth your time. We all left with a smile and that feeling that we we've just spent the day with old friends. Life doesn't get better than that
"Previous 2024 Review" We decided to visit Terra Vite Winery in Jamesport on a recommendation from our daughters, for our 53rd Wedding Anniversary. And it exceeded all expectations. While many of the vineyards can feel similar, Terra Vite stands out in every way. From the moment we arrived, the welcomed hospitality and service were top-notch. Matt, who greeted and served us, made us feel like family, and the warmth of the experience made it difficult for us to leave. The atmosphere at Terra Vite is unmatched, surpassing all the other vineyards we've visited over the years. How we missed this gem before is a mystery. The wine selection was superb, and the Cypress Red Meritage wine was especially excellent. The cheese plate? Absolutely to die for. One unexpected and delightful touch was when he generously bought us a round of wine to help celebrate our anniversary- a personal touch we'll never forget. Terra Vite has officially become our go-to winery, and we'll be recommending it to all our friends who venture east. Matt, you made the day for us. You are the " Man of the Hour...
