Sodus Outer Lighthouse — Attraction in Town of Sodus

Really nice lighthouse with a short walk to the light itself. There is a nice memorial in memory of a young man who passed away trying to save someone else who fell into the water there. You can see people fishing all along the pier. Everyone is so relaxed, there is a beach with water that changes from very calm to very rough with the weather. Great to see...

A nice walk on the pier out to the lighthouse though an awful lot of small flying insects.

This light was first established in 1858, the new lighthouse was replaced in 1938 with this 51 foot tall structure.

The view over Lake Ontario is fabulous, especially this early in the morning. At 7:00 am, I had the park to myself....

Nice lighthouse on Lake Ontario that you can walk out to but cant go in. If you go on a windy day, the water will crash up onto the pier leading out to the lighthouse creating nice photo opportunities. Closest parking is at the beach park, but in the busier summer season, the lot fills up quickly. Nice place to visit for...
