Although they weren’t my first choice, I decided to use Krenzer Marine in Sodus, NY in June of 2024 to sell my Chaparral boat because I was moving out of state soon. I didn’t agree with them when they claimed it needed ~$1500 worth of repairs to enable a sale, but they had me over a barrel, so I agreed to it. They sold the boat, I paid them for the service, and they gave me a check for the sale minus their commission. In total, they made a third of what the boat sold for. I wasn’t happy about that, but I was glad the boat was gone because I couldn’t take it with me. I moved on and forgot about it. Done deal, or so I thought . . . Now, a year and 2 months later, in August 2025, they send me a cryptic bill via email dated August 2025 with the description “balance forward from total control” which was gibberish to me. I deduced this was for the service they provided in June of 2024 by the amount owed and I replied that I already paid it. Despite my response, they called me two days later to harass me about it. When I told Tim Habecker and the office manager, Lisa Angelo, that I already paid for the work, they claimed that due to a software change, they didn’t have a record of it and that I would have to prove I paid it with a credit card statement or a cashed check. They also mentioned they had the same problem with other customers. The fact that they were so careless in their transition to a new accounting software system that they didn’t bother to back up their financial records speaks volumes about their technical expertise and their business practices. On top of that, they didn’t use common sense to consider the fact that they would have never given me a check for the proceeds of the sale if I still owed them money. When I explained to them that it was going to be difficult for me to find a record of this because I went through a move during the last year, and changed banks because they didn’t have branches in my new state, they didn’t care. Fortunately, after hours of effort, I was able to track down a credit card statement that proved I in fact paid the bill 14 months ago. In summary, although they knew they had a problem with their accounting system, they assumed I owed them money and sent me a bill and harassed me about it anyways. Rather than contacting me to explain the problem in a nice way, they put the burden of proof on me and MADE THEIR PROBLEM MY PROBLEM. Believe the other negative reviews you see because they are more accurate than the...
Read moreI bought a 2025 Chaparral 210SSI OB from Krenzer Marine in June 2025. I actually started the process by visiting the dealership last fall to look at boats. Amber Sherman was very helpful in showing me different models. After some more research and comparison shopping at a few boat shows, I placed an order for my boat in March. My experience with Krenzer Marine was excellent. Amber gave us all the information we needed to make a decision, and the sales process was very smooth. When we picked up the boat in June, Amber was right there with Zack, the technician, for our test ride and delivery. They made sure everything was all set with the boat, including special-ordering and installing padded flooring and fixing a warranty issue with a seat cushion that they discovered before I even saw the boat. When I was having trouble hooking up my trailer tie-downs, two mechanics, obviously on their lunch break, came over & gave me a hand. Overall, we had a great experience buying this boat from Krenzer Marine, and I highly recommend them. Now, after my first season with the boat, I love it! The 200HP Yamaha outboard has plenty of power to pull skiers, even with a boat full of passengers. The Chaparral fit & finish is excellent – you can tell they use high quality materials and do excellent workmanship. The boat handles very well and takes wakes and rough water smoothly. There is plenty of on-board storage for all the gear, including the cover.
I am very happy with Krenzer and my...
Read moreWe were elated to purchase our used boat from Krenzers. During the test ride with the the new owner from Krenzers the boat was not running correctly. I brought this to their attention. To which I was assured to consider the condition of the boat and that it wasn't used much as to the reason it was not running correctly. Against my better judgment I fell for it. We used the boat three times and everytime it broke down on us. Brought it back to Krenzers. Got the we will look at it beginning of the week. That time came and went. Called on a Friday and they were going to get it in that day. Nothing. Called back on Saturday and was told we have a problem. I immediately went to the marina. The previous owner Steve Williams failed to winterize the boat properly. The block and manifolds were cracked. Neither Steve's(Krenzer or Williams) would do anything for us. Krenzers solution was to charge us around 750 dollars to have the motor pulled and apply epoxy to the block-externally. Anyone can see this as an unacceptable means to repair. I was even offered a job there while disputing these solutions to which I said I can't accept a position with them while potentially having to sue them to correct this issue. I absolutely would not trust Krenzers or Steve Williams. Shame on me for believing that if anything was wrong that we would have help, seeings how I mentioned the miss I could hear in the engine. Stay clear of any business doings...
