Powerhouse Brewster — Attraction in Town of Southeast

10/10 cannot recommend powerhouse enough. I’ve made so many friends and learned so much through the members and staff. It really truly is a community and not just a gym as cliche as that sounds, and you don’t really understand it until you start going.

The culture is beyond what I expected to find. The staff is supportive, knowledge, and friendly. I love that I can workout here and sweat amongst like minded people who aren’t there just for an athletic wear fashion show.

The facility looks modern, gym is always clean, and the equipment is pretty new. If a piece of equipment does have an issue, it’s always been repaired promptly in my experience. The sauna in the women’s locker room is infrared, so tip- turn it on before your workout so it’s nice and hot by the time you’re ready to go in. Also love having PMR right in the gym- I’ve struggled with knee pain and would schedule to pop in with the Physical therapist and/or Acupuncturist once or twice a week until I was feeling some relief. The Protein Shake bar is another perk I love, it’s so convenient just grabbing a quick shake on my way out to get the protein I need but way better than just slugging back protein powder and water...

I opened a membership 1/26/22 to take an early morning class. In September, one of the owners brought in his dog and was playing ball while the class was in session. The ball and the dog were all over the place creating a stressful and dangerous environment. I have not been back since. I attempted to cancel my membership 4 times being told they can’t and to call, email, or mail Joe. I emailed him. No response. On the 12th month, I declined payment as I felt I owed for 10 days not an entire month. Plus they will not cancel membership until the month after. Twin Oaks, the billing service, advised that I send a certified letter to Joe and that I had a legitimate reason to cancel and ask that he drop the late fee. Christiano called me no less than 3x per day for 6 days to discuss the letter and to work things out. He said there were new owners and the billing company set the terms. Blamed everyone, and never addressed my concerns. He vigorously harassed me. He wanted that payment and nothing less. These are nasty people. If you want to ever be treated with respect, you won’t find it here....

I’m partner to a gym in white plains. It’s integrated as we work with both the neurotypical and atypical populations. I can’t work out in my own gym. It’s quite busy and I need quiet time. I found Powerhouse gym. It’s comparable to my gym with updated equipment, extremely clean, and houses two great employees - Jack and Nia who go out of their way to say hello and goodbye. You can converse with both and they are friendly and attentive to this gym needs . The other employees seem involved in other activities, look down as you enter, and often engaged in conversations with their peers. They never notice when you leave. The members are great. They ask if you are using a machine and quite friendly. I would highly recommend. I just hope others follow Jack and Nia’s example of great customer service.its still a 5 star....
