This is an update on 2/1/2023. The owner replied to my earlier review saying he hoped I would give Point Place Casino another try. I decide to do just that today. Sorry to say that in my opinion this casino doesn't care about their guests experience. I arrived at around 9:45am, the place is still dimly lit, I walked up to a blackjack table with a $10.00 minimum where the dealer had all the cards on the table and was mixing them up. When I got to a seat he told me the table was full and I would have to find another table. There was NO "hold" placard at the spot I wanted to sit at. So I walked around to find that there were only 2 other blackjack tables with higher minimums but still no availability for me to play. I gave them another try, it was disappointing again. You had your chance Point Place, never again. In my opinion the better casino to go to where this has NEVER occurred is Turning Stone. I always get to play at a blackjack table at Turning Stone no matter what time of the day or evening I arrive.
This was my first review 3 months ago. Having been to T.S. in Vernon I thought this place would mirror the pleasant venue, pleasant Blackjack dealers and pleasant clientele. Wrong. The venue isn't as bright nor inviting, it seemed dimly lit and gloomy in comparison to T.S. One of the two alternating dealers at the Blackjack table was unfriendly, acted sarcastic, didn't offer any advice to one of the players and grunted several times when players asked a question or thought about if they wanted to split or double down. This made the mood at the table almost like a funeral wake. Silent, no joviality among our table. I did leave with a descent win amount but it was not a pleasant experience. The Pit Bosses were very friendly and offered me water and even wished me an upcoming happy birthday. The Pit Bosses were the only pleasant people I encountered. What a shame. They need to hire people that care about the gamblers experience and that enjoy working with the public while striving to provide a positive and enjoyable atmosphere at their table, then maybe I will go back. But for now I will...
Read moreHaving been raised in Bridgeport, NY, a casino in the middle of this quiet hamlet is still bewildering to me, but I can say that thus far, Point Place has remained tasteful. The bar always appears to be fully stocked, and the Café has delicious pastries and sweets, even some gluten-free options for my wife(celiacs). Our last visit was New Years Eve 2022, and the staff was diverse and pleasant. We started with a few alcoholic drinks @ the bar, had a snack at The Lounge of Chips & Salsa for the wife(the only GF/VEG option), and yummy Extra Large German Pretzel for me. We played the slots and finished our night with tasty coffee drinks & dessert at Perfect Pour Café. All in all, it was a grand night, and we will return to explore some more! Side Note; I would like to make the suggestion, though, that if you are gluten-free and / or Vegan/Vegetarian consider bringing snacks in the car...lol. Point Place would only benefit from a few more gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options.(We had to slip out to the local Dollar General so my wife could find some GF sustenance before returning to...
Read moreWe have been going here almost since they opened. We use to go 2 to 3 times per week. We use to have a lot of fun there. We'd win some and lose some but we'd atleast win often enough to keep us going back. As often as we were going neither of us has had a payout over 1k. That doesn't bother all that much, after all it's called gambling, not winning. What does bother me is that we've both notice that the win some lose some has turned into lose some, lose some more, keep losing. It use to be when you hit a bonus feature it would often have a nice payout. Now it is quite apparent that the bonus feature payouts are dramatically lower than they use to be.This has taken the fun out of going. Now we don't go nearly as often and we don't bring as much with us to play with. We have talked to a few of the regulars that we know and they have expressed the same things that I just mentioned. We really use to like going here to have some fun but not so much anymore. We're a bit disappointed with...
