Mary Wilcox Library — Attraction in Town of Triangle

The librarian was very friendly when I signed up for my library card today. She gave me a tour of this small, box layout library gem in Whitney Point. The space is mostly comprised of adult fiction, and a good middle school and younger reading area, which I imagine is based on community need. There are also three computers available, surprisingly good-sized DVD and audio selections, and a hallway of large print texts. Non-fiction is organized by call number, so it may be best to ask for assistance in that area (which I'll have to do--because there is nothing like a humor packed memoir). The hours are also note-worthy in comparison to other small town communities!

Why I'm excited: Since this is part of the larger four county system, which is huge, it'll be easy to order the books I want that aren't necessarily on hand and easy to collect due to location, hours and size. Can't wait...

Cute library, however, rude librarian. Stephanie I think her name was. I brought a book back a day late because of my work schedule and she was extremely rude, giving me dirty looks. I explained my situation to her about work and she said I wouldn't be charged for that day being late. I didn't ask she told me. I was like ok well that's nice of you. I was in Vestal and went to go take out a book and apparently the lady in Whitney Point, Stephanie at Mary Wilcox, was charging up my library account and still letting me get books when the librarian at the Vestal Library said she shouldn't have. If I had known that I owed any money whatsoever I would have paid it, providing I was late more than just that one time. Great public library in the City of Whitney Point, NY 13862. The Head Librarian, Stephanie and other staff members are very pleasant, friendly, and happy to help! Cool DVD section to pickup and watch your favorite movies at home. Clean and well maintained computer work stations and printers with high-speed connectivity.
