Great place for the local community and visitors to spend time by the water. Enjoy just peaceful setting, sun and air bath, swim, kayaking, paddle. Hammandsport is great place to live especially if you have young children or at age to retire. Entertainment wise? Limited. Not only price wise for the rentals but limited for actual activities too. Have water equipment rental businesses are great but not a way promote physical activity, socializing and building healthy community with great relationships. Price wise rentals are high. Live music is great entertainment too. But what about live DJ and dance parties? Seems like many are missing something in between especially in organization of summer season to attract customers and have revenue to compensate quite wintertime. Tip as visitor, customers point: high price to cut a piece in 5 months sounds more like grinder. Keep lower price sounds more like establish relationships between businesses and customers, build LTR and name. But that is local Municipality mostly projects because they are the one in charge of public access to free entertainment including physical activity and sports: bikes, kayaks, dances too. P.S. Souvenirs? A lot but something that attracts anyone prepared poorly especially for the picky tourists and visitors these days. Stores are disorganized and merchandise hoarded instead have something unique that will be in place. Anyways, thanks to everyone for the great time, good customer service. Some of you get ideas for the next year by listening to customers opinion. Remember that any customer come first. Have a pleasant the rest...

Read moreLovely spot to enjoy public access to real lake edge swimming off a dock. I hate those artifical beaches, I want to use my mask and flippers and see natural bottom and fish! This area has life guards but they were chill.
The 4 foot deep bottom here drops off after 7 feet out, down to like 30 feet deep at the rope line. Roped area was generously sized for things like this. There is a very small beach in the corner for little kids where it is shallow. Lots of lovely fish and freshwater muscles on rocks, plus some seaweed after the dropoff but not so much it's gross (fun to swim through underwater). Water was clear and a great temp in mid August when we went.
Also a great view of the lake! Plus a...
