Amazing experience! Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! First time at Westport Marina to rent a power boat and tube around Lake Champlain. Marina is easily accessible off I-87 and you drive through the postcard pretty, picturesque town of Westford down to get there, where you are greeted with a stunning and blood pressure-reducing view of the bay and the Green Mountains of Vermont to the east. This is easily one of the most beautiful parts of the lake (and highly Instagrammable!). It was a simple and easy process to reserve and then rent a Larson. Fun was had by all including our three teenagers in tow. Larry and his staff are exceptionally welcoming, kind, and very knowledgable, and he was happy to share his stories, tips, and tricks about all things regarding boats and life on the water. The mariners hanging around, mooring up, etc. all had smiles on there faces and seemed to be really enjoying themselves. There's also a great restaurant on site with fantastic food to match the views, and a fun, well-stocked "general store" type shop with everything we needed to make an incredible visit. This place is old school in the best sense, and there aren't many gems like this left anymore. 10/10 highly recommend...and looking forward to...
Read moreWould love to say that I enjoyed it here but I didn’t get to after all. I must say I was very disappointed as my family and I planned to visit Westport Marina for several years and finally planned on doing so. I had a reservation for overnight docking and was asked to arrive by a specific time and we set a time of arrival. I called my boat in when 30 minutes out and arrived at the specified time. No spot was available so I circled for 15 minutes in 16kts of wind. Eventually, due to the wind, I ask permission to drop anchor while I waited and received said permission. After 30 minutes I called back to check in on status of space and was lectured (by another staff member) on how I should not have anchored near the mooring field (mind you that not only did I ask for permission, but I anchored down wind from any mooring balls and was on the vessel awaiting my reserved spot the entire time). I know that scheduling issues arise but taking the frustration out on the boat that followed all instructions was not needed. I joined other sailers who departed north to either Basin Harbor or...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. I usually only take the time to write glowing reviews, but the owner of the ship store was so rude it was worth taking the time to write. We came in on a small float plane looking for fuel, but the dock was too high to pull up next to the pumps. We asked to borrow a 5 gallon jug, which we saw sitting on the ground, but the owner told us they are “not for borrowing” and wanted to charge $50 for a 5 gallon jug. We understand some marinas can’t accommodate a float plane, but there is no reason to be rude. We would have been return customers, taking a good amount of fuel each time. Needless to say, steering everyone towards Point Bay Marina where the staff is so welcoming and...
