A Quiet Lakeside Town Known as ‘The Gateway to the Adirondacks’ Is The Most Laid-Back Town in New York

Portside is a dining delight along Lake Champlain’s Adirondack Coast. The American fare, influenced “with a nod to Hawaii,” in honor of the restaurant-family’s grandpa, offers a fresh take on contemporary casual. The poke bowl features an “add your preferred protein,” while the kid-approved grilled cheese and fries come with activity mats, and the overall menu accommodates preferences, omnivore to vegan. Stepping into Portside feels like entering a coastal retreat, unpretentious and relaxing. The expansive windows offer views of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains while the maritime decor reminds us of the port’s bustling history as a major point of commerce and leisure of the mid 19th century. We often opt to dine on the spacious patio overlooking the marina boats swaying next to the quiet little beach. It's a setting that never fails to elevate the experience. Adding to the atmosphere, summertime Saturdays feature live music, a hit for locals and travelers alike! Whether it's a special occasion or grabbing a slip to catch a casual lunch, both the marina and Portside’s enthusiastic staff genuinely care and their commitment to hospitality shines.

This restaurant has some tables by the water which is very nice to sit outside to enjoy the view. The service is a bit slow, and the waitress keeps forgetting things. The food taste good but the portion is so tiny do that price tag. The clam is only four pieces that’s a bit ridiculous. The crab cakes on the devil eggs are a little overcooked, fried too dry. The only good dish is the lobster sliders. Even the fries comes with it is really good.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Portside in Westport, NY, and it was a remarkable experience. Situated in a picturesque location, the restaurant offers stunning views of Lake Champlain, creating the perfect backdrop for a meal that's as visually appealing as it is delicious.

Upon arrival, the staff warmly welcomed us, ensuring that our dining experience was pleasant and enjoyable. It's evident that providing exceptional customer service is a top priority here.

The menu appears to cater to a wide range of tastes, making it a suitable dining spot for virtually anyone. Additionally, the restaurant is particularly family-friendly, offering a welcoming atmosphere and menu options that appeal to guests of all ages, including younger diners.

And let's not overlook the cocktails—they were simply delightful. The skilled bartenders crafted concoctions that were both distinctive and wonderfully refreshing.

As a recent transplant, I wholeheartedly recommend dining at Portside in Westport, NY. Whether you're drawn by the breathtaking views, the welcoming atmosphere, the outstanding cuisine, or the delicious cocktails, you're in...

About a week ago, my Mom and I stopped by on their first night being open. For it only being their first night, I was completely blown away with the quality of the food, and so was my Mom. Because of it being their first night, it was a pre fixe menu, but we still thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals. The owners and staff are absolutely amazing and super friendly - always with a smile on their faces, and ready to serve up a hot meal (perfectly timed service). If you are EVER in Westport, NY, please stop by this restaurant and give them a try - they deserve it. You deserve it!! Congratulations to the Portside restaurant, and keep up the...
