I recently set out on mission to find a Ducati 848 streetfighter. Bob Weaver Motorsports & Marine was the 1st place I stopped just looking for a lead and expecting to not get one. I told the salesman I was approached by (Mike Weaver) that I was looking for a 848 SF and the nearest one I had found so far was in NJ. he told me that they just got one in I immediately fell in love with the bike! I was surprised that I had found one on my 1st stop looking for one. there are a lot of jewels in the used inventory of Bob Weaver and the prices are fair to. The sales man mike was very knowledgeable of the products and very helpful in answering my questions! The whole team is a delight to work with! So I went to my bank for a loan and was declined due to lack of a large enough down payment was not expecting to find the bike I was after so fast. I texted mike to let him know my bad news that’s when he informed me that I could put a deposit on the bike so they would hold it for me! How awesome is that? Of corse the deposit is non refundable but I don’t know of to many places left that do this when the next guy in the door could have cash in hand and be ready to roll out with the bike that day. What an incredible risk to take on your walk in costumers, as they could potentially lose a sale. these guys are definitely a 1st class team that want to help get you on your dream bike and that your not just dollar signs that happed to wander in the door. So I took the chance on them and put a $500 non refundable deposit on the bike. He gave me a few months while they held the bike for me so I could come up with the funds for the purchase. Fast forward ahead about 4 weeks I called them to let them know I’m making the 1 hour 50 minute drive back out to them to buy the bike. I make the purchase and decided I wanted a bike stand to help protect my new investment. The sales team was very knowledgeable on what I was looking for I was going to buy one of the stands they had there on-hand the sales team made sure that the one I was going to buy would actually work for my bike turns out it wouldn’t work because the Ducati Streetfighter 848 has a single sided swing arm. Instead of letting me go out the door with the sale on the stand they had on-hand they made sure that I would get one that worked. So it’s not all about getting the sale with these guys witch is crazy rare at a dealership this day and age. They legitimately care about there costumers. They did not have the stand I needed on hand so they ordered me one and where going to ship it to me when they got it so I didn’t have to make the 2 hour trip back out to them to snag it. I informed them that I would be back around the next day with a buddy of mine that has a truck to transport the bike back home as it’s winteyr. The next day I showed up with my buddy to pick up the bike and they informed me that at some point between them putting the bike on hold and my purchase date that the braket for the clutch reservoir became broke and that they ordered a new one and that I could either wait for them to get it and install it before I took the bike or I could take the bike and they would ship it with my stand so I could install it myself. This was definitely no deal breaker for me as I’m handy with wrenches. Mike Weaver was kind enough to go though everything with me before letting me roll out with the bike. He covered service dates all the controls of the bike all the manuals and the stuff that goes with the bike even found me a couple of old brochures they still had for the bike! When we went to load the bike it stalled and wouldn’t start again. They took a look at it and determined that it was something they wanted to set right and they are now going to ship the bike to me once it’s fixed so I don’t have to make the trip back out to them and inconvenience my buddy again! What can I say I’m blown away by the team. If your looking for a bike and you don’t go to Bob Weaver 1st your making a BIG mistake! They have definitely won me over and I’ll be going no where else in the future!...
Read moreI don’t really review stuff, but here I am. I went to Bob Weavers because the show room looked nice, and it was close by. On my first visit I met with a salesman, Chase I believe. Nice kid, really. I suspect he wasn’t the most knowledgeable— he tried to sell me a bike I specifically said I didn’t want. Again though, I had a pleasure talking to him.
Chase tried to convince me a sport touring and super sport are “basically the same.” I’m paraphrasing here but he said things like “they are both sport bikes, ones just more comfortable.” Tried reeeeeaaaal hard to convince me a ninja 650 is just as fast and racy as a dedicated sport bike... lol. I was genuinely confused and came to the conclusion that bike has been there a while and they are really trying to move it.
After being confused as to why I’m getting pushed a type of bike I wasn’t there for, I left to check other local dealers. Over the week I visited a few. At this point I still liked Bob Weavers, and since I have loyalty, and went there first, I went again to see if maybe it was just a weird day.
My sales guy wasn’t there, a different kid with about the same depth of knowledge. (idk name) I’m not trying to knock anyone, but I was asking simple spec sheet questions I already knew the answers too. I told this guy I’m looking for a 636 and he showed me like 6– Okay cool! We are getting somewhere. I sit on a few varied years and models and tell him I’m going to price shop and I’ll get back to him or chase.
I shopped around and called Bob Weavers to talk to Chase. He’s not there, but I talk to someone with the last name “Weaver.” Awesome I’m talking to an owner or a family member, this is perfect!
I tell Mr. Weaver that I have some quotes from other dealers and he abruptly interrupts me like: “woah woah woah what’s wrong with us? I thought you were gunna buy a bike from us?” So that’s where the dislike started. I was legit stunned, and explained to him that comparative shopping is a popular practice... I then give him a number to beat. I said another dealer will sell me a brand new 2019, 0 miles, same model, for less than Weavers 2018 7,xxx mi product. (True)
At this point his frustration is audible. He goes alright I’ll call you back, and as I’m saying thank you for taking the time to run some numbers I was hung up on. he did call back, and he did beat the price! But not significantly. At which point I told him that wasn’t a significant enough drop for me to go the used route. At which point he flips out. Him “Seriously?! You said you’d buy it from me if I could beat the price.” I hung up.
I’ll change my review when the owner or his son call me to apologize for being obnoxiously rude on the phone.
EDIT: I was called back by Mike and was apologized too for the bad service during that time. Humbleness goes a long way in my book and I’ll be adding stars. I won’t remove what I said for context, but I will add that Bob Weavers did go out of their way to reach out to me, and apologize. Greatly appreciated. Overall, a truly odd experience but I’d be willing to give them...
Read moreI purchased a motorcycle from Jon on March 1st, 2018. I inquired about the 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom initially online on their website, and Jon, from sales, almost immediately contacted me back the same morning to have me come in and take a look at it. Most times, I had to wait a period of time for responses from other establishments, but not with this place. I was greeted on a first name basis, by Jon, right when I walked in the door. It truly makes you feel welcomed and important. Jon guided me to the motorcycle, stood back, let me do my thing and let me know if I had any questions, to just ask. After I felt content with the feel of the bike, I went ahead with the purchase portion of the visit. Jon made it super smooth and painless. I didn't feel pressured at any point, which can happen at some dealerships when making large purchases. He walked me through the process as quickly as possible, but still thoroughly explaining each step and all added fees, and all add on purchases I could make. I ended up buying a 2 year warranty as I was purchasing a used bike, for just-in-case situations. After everything was said and done, I went out and started enjoying the bike. For being a 2009, it ran like it was brand new, and still runs great. It only had 5,100 or so miles on it when I purchased it, so I guess it can be considered slightly used. Up to today, May 25th, I have recieved a phone call from Mr. Weaver himself making sure my motorcycle was running smooth, and I have received a personalized letter from Jon thanking me for my purchase. They truly do treat you like you are a part of their family, and I couldn't be happier with my choice of dealership and I am thoroughly pleased with my motorcycle. Thank you Jon and Mr. Weaver for taking care of me and continuing to care about your customer. I will be back in the future to purchase another bike from...
