Given all the positive reviews, I am so disappointed with my experience. The exception is that the gentleman in sales who helped me (Larry) was very thorough and attentive. He ordered me two wall ACs to replace the ones that were in my new home. The issues came with the installation. Since I had to work, my mother was at my home to receive the order for me. While I was teaching, my mother called me in a panic to tell me one of the installers thought one of the ACs was the incorrect size. It turns out there had been no need to concern us, as the installer made a phone call and found out it was the right AC after all. The installation with the bedroom AC went fine, except that the installer had my mother vacuum out the wall sleeve once the old AC had been removed. I paid for this installation — did they not have a shop vac they could have used? The living room AC was the real disaster. When removing the old AC, the installer found that the sleeve in the wall was damaged (unbeknownst to me and not the installer’s fault, of course). The damage caused rust-colored water to spill all over my brand new $400 rug. Like I said, the damaged sleeve wasn’t the installer’s fault, but he hadn’t thought to put down a tarp or towels as a precaution. I thought it was common sense that water spillage could be part of any AC removal. My mother had to go out and get carpet shampoo to scrub the stain out, and there is still a minor discoloration there. I called the store multiple times to explain my dissatisfaction and to see if things could be made right. I was hoping to receive at least some of the installation cost back, but they dodged me and never ultimately got back to me. In addition, they made it sound like I just needed to contact the sleeve installer in order to get a new sleeve. However, I called the sleeve installer (who was very nice and knowledgeable) and he said that Atlantic Appliance needs to order the sleeve first. Needless to say, I won’t be contacting the store to order the sleeve. I’ll need to figure something else out. I’m still floored by the lack of customer service (with the exceptions of the salesman and the sleeve installer who...
Read moreCalled to order a new refrigerator. Spoke to Rob told him the refrigerator that I wanted. He told me that I was seventh in line and that I could not get the refrigerator until after January 5. I told him I would call him back later in the day. I called back the next day and decided to still order the refrigerator. The first time I called Rob he was not at his desk the operator said maybe he was at lunch call back later. An hour and a half later I called back and Rob was still not at his desk the operator suggested that maybe he was in a meeting or in training to call back later. The third time I called which was about 3 o’clock in the afternoon the operator told me Rob was still not at his desk. I asked if there was somebody else to take my order and she switched me to Fran. I told her that I wanted to order a refrigerator and that I spoke to Rob in the morning she said let me take your information. I wanted to give her the model number and she did not want that she wanted my name in my phone number. I gave her my name my phone number and she told me that she would have Rob call me back since I spoke to him in the morning. I asked her can’t you place the order I just want to order a refrigerator she said no Rob would call me back. We’ll, two days later and still no call!! I felt they didn’t want my business! I just ordered a new microwave and dishwasher from them I don’t get it! Thank you Lowe’s not only did I get the same exact refrigerator for less but it was delivered the next day by 8 AM! I wanted to support small businesses but I was sad the treatment that I got at Atlantic appliance! I’ll think before going back to them again...
Read moreI purchased a washing machine 5 years ago from Atlantic and had them install; it’s been a little glitchy for a while, but nothing that turning off and back on couldn’t fix. A couple weeks ago, I couldn’t get it to start no matter what tricks I tried. Now I have a 4 year old who still has nighttime accidents, a 2 year old who thinks his job is to make a mess and an infant with reflux, so my washing machine is a VIP appliance. I called a repair place who checked it out and said whoever installed mixed up the hot and cold lines and that the steam is messing up the control board, which was almost as expensive to replace as to get a new machine. My washer is in the basement and yah, I’m guilty of not being the best housewife not noticing, but clothes were clean. I called Atlantic mostly to complain, hoping maybe they could at least cover the cost of the service call. I got a call back from the owner himself, he didn’t try to hustle me, offered to send his mechanic out to fix it at no cost! I am beyond happy with Atlantic and my repaired washer. They have earned a lifelong customer. Buy local and support Atlantic Appliance, if your 5 year old big box store appliance breaks, I can guarantee you the owner of Home Depot isn’t going to call you back to...
