Trinidad State Beach is a state beach 20 miles north of Eureka in Humboldt County, California. The offshore rocks are part of the California Coastal National Monument. Colorful tide pools provide specimens to Humboldt State University's Fred Telonicher Marine Laboratory located in Trinidad.

This is a beautiful place and it offers all the things you expect from a Pacific coast view and beach. I love all the craggily rocks jutting out of the crashing waves. Plenty of parking down near the beach even though lots of pot holes. The city of Trinidad offers a casino “Cher-Ae-Heights Casino” I have enjoyed the lunch buffet, and it was small but good and satisfying. This beach is lovely and dramatic for a low ride morning stroll rain or shine. The car park is right next to the light house and the haul out beach. You can see beautiful haystack rocks and meat a few local dogs if you are lucky. Bring rain gear because it is misty on the shore much of the time. I'd take off half a star due to the super windy conditions on 4/11 that whipped sand about the parking lot and made me need to wear my sunglasses as a buffer the whole time. That said, the beach itself its beautiful and i wished we had time to explore futher down. Grandmother rock was cool to see and some big rocks on the beach are this gorgeous green agate stone....
